Different things though, I wouldn't qualified Wittgenstein as a relativist, even in the way it's usually said about several school of thoughts which imo is a bit an unfair critic - in fact his work with the tractacus aimed at forging a "perfect" langage that would be fit to describe reality and thus tells undisputable truth about it. It's a bit a scary project if you ask me. Ambivalence in langage is freedom, and dictatorship always go after langages first, they try to restrict the meaning of things, banish some expressions.
About relativism. I'm from a school of thought that gets called that quite often. I remember arguing hard with a treacher in poltical philosophy during my uni years, on that specific matter.
His line was about the same as yours (I think originaly it's K.Popper who wrote that), anyhow he was saying that deconstruction movement and specifically the figure of P.Bourdieu was in the middle of an aporia, since they argue that every single claims of the social world isn't just neutral and fruit of pure reflexion and reason, anyone speaking is always speaking from "somewhere" in the social world, and they always at least partially reflect the area of the social world they speak from, which concretely manifest itself by dispositions (structured themselves by various capital, agents can rely on). So evidently Bourdieu himself should be the fruit of that, and his work also is the fruit of that, and thus he shouldn't even try to produce anything, because it will always be the fruit of his disposition, etc.
Except Bourdieu (or Foucault with his épistémé, or Derrida with his deconstruction process, any constructivist school really) never said that what he says about the social world invalidates any truthfullness there may be in the intellectual or social production various agents offer. He just says that those dispositions are often a key to explain why the person who does research or intellectual work does what he or she does (which obviously is something that applies to him) and they also can severely guide you in many of your "choices" (the choice of topic of research itself, the choice of which theorical approach, the choice of the methodology used, the field studied, etc) and short of having reflexivity upon those factors, well you take the risk to be highly subjective, keep out of the realm of your research paradigms and thoughts that make you uncofortable so you don't question them, etc.
M.Weber had a similar notion "axiologic neutrality". The word neutrality imo is a poor choice. It gives the impression that with this tool, the researcher cease to be subjective and all others approach fail to it, and can be reduce to their researcher pov. Also might give the impression that by trying to neutralize any judgement in the research process, in order for this process to not be guided by those judgements rather than rational choices pertinent for the research, that the objects of research of the researcher cease to have moral or subjective values for others (and sometimes the researcher himself). It's not the case obviously.
All those items are just tools to make the social ground which is not an "objective" and physical one a more solid ground as far as method is concerned.

Do you know the Frankfurt School (Adorno, Horkheimer)? When mass culture is just a commodity produced through marketing formulas and patterns by cultural industry and art and artistic values (like originality, for instance) in general suffer a demise?
I think that is exactly what the op described.
Then there's Guy Debord, with the commodification of the images in a society ruled by the spectacle. Commodification of labour, then of culture, then of the image: fetichism and alienation of life at their highest.

I once read an article about this subject, it was about the spreading of gangsta rap in an economically poor region of a city. The woman described how her neighbourhood transformed from a simple, active community where life was hard but tolerable, into a violent place of drug dealing, pimping and drive-bye shootings in about 10 to 15 years after the prevalence of gangsta rap among the neighbourhood's youth. The problem, as I remember her describing it was that young black people, sensing the economic disparities between whites and blacks, began taking the lyrics as truths. While there really is some truth in the general theme and message of the music, people do still get to decide how hard they are willing to work for improving their lives, but once young people have instilled in themselves a belief it is very hard to get rid of it later in life so they don't even try and just accept that life is unjust and that they will never have it better than white people, which is one of the main subjects of gangsta rap from that era if I understand it correctly. Once a belief spreads, it will gather like minded individuals, which will lead to gangs being formed around that catalyst which was perhaps originally some dude trying to convey his feelings of injustice done to him as a youth or maybe he wrote the lyrics just to get the attention of the focus group consuming it. It's a problem of the chicken or the egg. I however contend that people don't generally get ideas of actions and complex cultural situations on their own and they have to come from outside of themselves, such as music. If a person lives their whole life in a cabin in the woods and it's immediate surroundings with their parents and also dies there, I very much doubt they could develop a need or want for a prettier house or a fancy car like the rich guy on the other side of town. I believe that most of our needs (excluding physiological ones) and wants have been instilled in us from birth and every single day we are blasted with ads, slogans, commercials, music, movies, series, comic books, foods, hygiene products and on and on that reinforce those needs and wants, and the sinister side-effect is the silencing of our inner instincts. There is no doubting that the world is a business, most activities people are engaged in every work day revolves around money and the music industry is no exception. Look at music videos for an hour, there might be 5 or 6 videos with out any sexual content in it, I went to a kid's 2nd birthday a week ago and the TV was on an endless stream of music videos the whole time and I just watched the kid watching the screen when the most revealing parts were on, mesmerized. And I'm pretty sure this is at least a weekly theme, bombarding a 2 year old neural information sponge with content like that will have an effect. Since the mother is my SO's BFF I'm going to see my melancholic prophecy to fruition, I'm sure of that. So to answer your question, yes, yes it can.

I've heard Afro American pastors say the same things about Jazz, and even said bass was from the devil back in the day. The feds didn't treat Marylin Monoe very well either. The past was dark but moving forward NWA and Ice Cube seemed to survive the points of view against their music ok.

BTW my self consciousness internalizing issues had me thinking Superliquid leaving was my fault somehow but now seeing some of your conflict. I love you but feeling a bit salty for that one..

Don't know what it was but reading some of the antagonizings couldn't have helped. Bass god wouldn't give a fuck but the calm ones don't want to put up with that shit probably. All I know was he was hooking up some next level production tips and spreading that loving feeling around here. Welp, guess that just means I'm going to have to annoy YOU with my bass/mix questions more now
