I'd invest what I can a few month ago and today Im thinking about withdraw my 100% profit (I mean I double the worth in 4 months) and waiting for the next curve. I already got decent money from the 'underground market business' that also appear in the music industry (selling 'party' drugs & soft stimulants).
What I was talking about is more in terms of the music quality and the visibility of them. Or maybe the trend will stay the same, meaning "you can't be important if you'r not"' which is the rule today

A fictional story! Everyone can create fictitious stories like this.

Independent artists usually have little interest in knowing the interests of the masses. Independent artists usually only follow their interests and do not have much respect for the interests of the audience. You can refer to What are you listening to now? and you will understand what I mean.
Knowing the tastes of the audience and coordinating with them is the first step in finding the music market. Without this respect and directing artistic works towards the interests of the audience, the audience's money will not flow towards independent artists.:)

I'm completely satisfied for my needs, never managed to hit the CPU limit on 256 buffer, using mostly Diva, Valhalla, FabFilter, DSEQ, whole mastering in same project and etc. Most RAM that was used by Bitwig in full project was 6GB's, lately I have been abusing Nexus and Omnisphere, it's the first time I saw swap in use, but like 500mb's or something like that, not a big deal. Bitwig manages to use all of my cores, it's super optimized for this processor, so I get Logic kind of performance out of it. I would go for Air again if I needed another laptop, it's ultra thin, no fans, packs enough punch, battery life is amazing and quality of the laptop is solid, backlit keyboard, gorgeous display and etc.

this take is careless and irresponsible. I'd wager most indies care about the interests of the masses. A number of things stop them from reaching them; marketing, budgets, networking opportunities, etc etc. The type of person that only cares about what he/she is making independent of the rest of the world and doesnt care about whether or not it does well are small minute few. and you've just used that small % to broad stroke an entire population of artists.

What you listen to for pleasure and what you produce are two entirely different things.

Where everything Spotify /Daniel Ek is concerned, its nothing more than an exercise in futility.

No problem at all. Go to the crossroads, wait for Legbar and make a deal with him.

Indie artists usually have eccentric musical tastes. They listen to songs they found from unknown albums. Various strange styles, which are mostly not in the level of ordinary people's taste in terms of stylishness and musicality. It may be possible to find music from independent artists that appeals to the general public, but these songs are usually few in number during the artist's lifetime.
It is true that the taste of ordinary people is weak, but it is very necessary to know the musical needs of ordinary people. By being on the consumption path of ordinary people, you can find a common taste with them and stop being independent and respond to their needs. Without satisfying the needs of ordinary people, they will not pay to enjoy the art of independent artists.
Independent artists should ask themselves why I have chosen the path of independence. Is artistic independence good for me or bad, because most of the time, fame and economic benefits and profits do not come out of independence. Even the music produced by independent artists is buried under the thick layer of dust.

If I wanted to make money I would study the Billboard Top 100, and also watch out for new emerging trends. Thankfully, I don't want to make money :)

Apparently that's what Tidal was supposed to be - but unfortunatly that just turned into another Jay-Z scam.
