Can iCloud locked iOS device be used in any way?

    I know you can't unlock one. I know you can't access iTunes and such. But can a locked iPad be used in any way at all?? Like just simply running a recording app offline. This whole locking business sucks. Good for Apple....they get to sell a lot more devices.....but terrible for the environment. I see thousands of locked devices for sale on eBay. Are they good for nothing but landfill?

    Well, but those are stolen, frequently with violence, devices. So, that... I have heard some people charging some money to "unlock" them, but for obvious reasons, I haven't tried it. But yes, I have seen that service offered.
