Hi i'm new here and this is my first thread. I'm french so please don't blame me for my bad english
I don't think the question has been asked here before but as I'm new I'm not sure to know how to use the search function yet.
I've done a little research on the net and I think there are chances Waves 11 could work with my W7 system because I suppose it is just a matter of being able to have access to support, but since my CPU is offline I think I can safely use this new version.
Am I right or wrong? Are there compatibility issues or not?

Waves 11 worked on my windows 7 system. When a company drops support for software it doesn't always mean they are making a change to the dsp code (like you've already noted), but rather just not offering customer service for that platform. Just try it and see if it works.

ok I installed version 11 and........... everything works like a charm!!!!
+ plugins based on soundgrid, like studio rack, that werent working on previous version (still don't know why but i could't get the list of plugins) now work PERFECTLY which is PRETTY GOOD NEWS...

WOW THAT WAS WORTH THE TRY thanks StarKid for helping me having the guts to do it lol

ALL I CAN DO IS HIGHLY RECOMMAND YOU INSTALLING THIS NEW VERSION

How did you manage to install it? I'm on WIn7 too and when I click on "Install" I get a message that "V11 Software is not supported on Windows 7". At least that's what happens with the latest version from the sister site.

Edit: My Bad. If you press OK on the message, the installation continues properly. I too confirm that everything is working fine on Win 7.

i installed the latest Waves Central first (provided) And I installed the plugins from there (I noticed the install was sighly different compared to the older version of Waves Central)
Hope you didn't do that and that it'll solve your problem

Thanks for your reply. It was my mistake. Everything runs smooth.
Nevertheless, I tried to uninstall using the Waves Central (I tested it on my non-DAW system, just in case) and I was getting an error messaege (couldn't uninstall - contact support etc).

 

i mixed r2r older release with 11v.r release
then extracted the vst with shellvst64.exe (from the older r2r release) no need for waves central
it woks on win 7

 

cool. glad it worked. I saw on the waves site that it is not necessary to uninstall older version. what i did is just put the w10 shells to the trash lol.
