I have Windows 10 pro, I was trying to update to windows 11. I've never seen this problem and I've done everything recommended to fix it. The download updates will just sit there and not load. I also noticed the other day when I went into safe mode it allow/find a connection present when you you start safe mode with network enabled. weirdupdate.png

I am on WIN 10. You can,t update win 10 anymore directly. I think Microsoft turned off. My machine doesn,t support WIN 11. If yours support, then you probably need to download the win 11 iso and update.

I believe theres an app in windows called PC Health Check... and if you dont have it I believe you can download it - at this site

Run it, and it will tell you if your PC qualifies for a windows 11 upgrade.

    You should definitely install this:

    O&O ShutUp10++:Free antispy tool for Windows 10 and 11
    www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10

In reality, Windows 11 works perfectly and without problems once you have configured it correctly.

How to Disable User Account Control in Windows

    Problem:
You want to disable User Account Control (UAC) in Windows to troubleshoot a software issue or to improve the performance of a program, especially if it interacts with other software.

    Solution:
User Account Control (UAC) is a Microsoft security tool that helps prevent malicious software from entering your system. It's not a full-fledged malware or virus protection solution, but it will notify you about changes that are about to be made to your computer. Temporarily disabling UAC can help isolate or resolve application problems. Re-enable this security setting once the issue is resolved.

    How to Disable UAC:

    1. Type "uac" in the Windows Start menu.
    2. Click "Change User Account Control settings."
    3. Move the slider down to "Never notify."
    4. Click OK and restart your computer.

"AdwCleaner 2025" is usually very fast and resource-efficient. Maybe it just updated its database. Sometimes it helps to check the Task Manager, where resource usage is listed. On my system, it's using 8.9% of the CPU and 44 MB of RAM.

Also, check your startup folder to see if there are any programs running that shouldn't be there.

I'd recommend this always. Takes a while to get used to the site but pays off. An download only the security updates.
Just in case, the annoying message has been fixed or you just ignore it?

make sure power mode AND power plan are set at maximum possible performance, disk sleep never, minimum cpu freq at 100%,
also check in BIOS if there is a setting for performance control bias of either OS or BIOS and try both whichever gives you better performance,
disabling updates and indexing may help too - because windows start/search doesn't work anyway, better use something like Everything - https://www.voidtools.com/downloads/
you can also restrict feature updates to specific release (like 24H2, 25H2) with InControl - https://www.grc.com/incontrol.htm

I do NOT recommend removing Windows components because you inevitably end up with broken system after some updates,
only thing I found useful is Defender Remover - https://github.com/ionuttbara/windows-defender-remover/releases
