Can a hard disk be damaged by low space?

    Hello Guys

I have three hard drives. 1 of one terabyte (partitioned) and two of 500GB.
The 1 Terabyte on the C: I have 30 gb space.
On the remaining partition 5 GB, on the other 500GB disk 4 GB.
Then my question is that, being left with only 5 GB the disks that do not have the operating system, can be damaged? is it necessary to leave a larger margin?
I hope my question is understood and thanks in advance.

    Short answer: No.

If it's a HDD (as in not solid state) then it makes no difference. Unless running "low on space" implies it's constantly being written to.

If it's a SSD then also no, _but_ some cheaper models reserve some spare space for caching, so if they're completely full you might get a performance hit.

    Apart from those: you're good.

    Thanks for answering dude!
I was just worried and didn't know whether to delete something. If it is HDD. Well, I'm more at ease.

If you want to defragment your hard drives you need at least 10% free space.
    1TB minus 10% = 100 GB.
It's not very good to slam the disks so full.
