I just discovered this old band from the 70's, and they have some interesting concepts that could be recycled by modern players.

The whole album is great. I'm not sure how I missed this one, as I generally seek out old music when looking for new influences.

Television should have had the career that Talking Heads got.

Marquee Moon is a highly regarded album. Tom Verlaine's guitar work was a massive influence on a lot of early 80's alternative bands (e.g. Echo & the Bunnymen), along with the likes of John McGeogh & Geordie Walker (both a little later).

Television have got the two guitar thing nailed, which is the interesting part for me as I am currently trying to get my Telecaster and Les Paul to sound unified. The entire album is excellent from a technical perspective, and worthy of study since the approaches used are also within reach of the average player.

bruh... that is like one of the most important record in the history of music (punk-rock atleast) other than Joy Division, Gang of Four, Fugazi etc. Anyway try listen to this masterpiece that has similar approach to guitar playing but softer music. One of my favourite, track 3 is my fav from this album.
