Buying my first Hardware Synth

    Single Osc.. Why bother? Multiple osc is where the fun is.

    Only decent analog synth mentioned is the Bass Station II. The Mininova is decent too, if you don't mind mini-keys (more than 25 keys is a big advantage if you want to play decent chords).

    Blofelds are nice, but is potentially a trap for newbies with the dodgy potentiometer issue, and editing is still a pain with only a few knobs. And having the knobs is kind of the point of having a hardware synth in the first place... I wouldn't buy a Blofeld unless I could verify the pots are all working properly.

    Another decent second hand possibility if you can't score a Virus C for a decent price is the Korg Radias... Stay away from the JP8000/JP8080, as many of them have issues with the pots too...
