Has anyone had issues or problems using legit paid ableton suite after using cracked versions for years? Has there ever been a case or story of ableton somehow keeping a log of all hardware codes of machines or iP addresses running cracked ableton (probably millions of people) and then years later when those people buy legit ableton and activate it on the same machine, ableton cross references this list or something they were building this whole time and then they ban/blacklist that machine or user/account to pay them back for using cracked or something, thus invalidating the serial the person paid for?
Seems like a ridiculous scenario but I just wondering if anyone has heard of this happening?
I would assume there are huge majorities of people who use cracked software who eventually make money from it and go all legit and I would assume ableton wouldn't want to alienate so many potential customers. What do you think?

 

If you pay Ableton for legit, they couldn't care less what you have done with their software before that point. Hell, it's one of the reasons they don't lock down their protections more. Cracked users are more likely to become legit users, than people who learn other cracked DAW's and never try Ableton.

Nothing happens I wanted to purchase Ableton about 10 years ago and have had lite versions as of version 9 it think from purchasing hardware. There was a better deal through thomannmusic than through their site so i picked up the upgrade to 11 Standard and will get the 12 for free when it comes out. They still have not given me access to the beta but got it somewhere and I uses my legit license with no issues.
