i had an original trigger finger until i sold it recently. hands down best and softest pads i've yet to use. they are also much nicer, believe it or not, than the trigger finger pro. very solid unit; soft, tactile pads. if you can find it on ebay for cheap, i would recommend it. otherwise, there are many other options these days that rival its functions. if you are looking for the best pad feel for the money though, go for it. you won't be disappointed. doesn't look too flashy, but what it does, it does solidly. used it on windows 10 no problem.

I also want to point out the difference between Finger Drum Pads and Performance Grids . They look similar but serve different purposes. I still see a lot of people confusing them with each other and even thinking it's the same thing.

Performance Grids/Launchpads are bigger in unit size, smaller pads. usually have an 8x8 grid but there isn't a rule here. We have both smaller and bigger grids down to 4x2 and up to 16x16.

They're mainly used for electronic music LivePA. whether it's remixing, replaying a song with pre-programmed patterns or going crazy with lighting effects. They serve as controller and don't produce sound on their own. It includes multi-color LEDs to help with visual identification or even playing a whole show with lights, plus no velocity too (usually) tho the higher end models do support velocity.
One successful artist in this category would be Mad Zach.

But normal drum pads (the ones being around since mid-80s) were/are being used for drums and resampling. They usually have an internal soundcard, a computing board, larger-softer velocity sensitive pads, knobs and multi functional buttons and some pricey ones come with a step sequencer and synth engines like retro drum machines. so most of them just work and don't need a computer software to make a sound.
An example artist in this field is: Araab Muzik. this guy is a monster. really if you still don't know him you should check him out even if you don't like urban genres.

I hope to have informed some people, at least to use the correct terms regarding two completely different but overlapping fields.

Now i'd like to ask the OP, which one of these is to your desire? do you want to perform electronic music with pads or make live beats and play drums in a modern format?
