    Gosh.....good research and info my friend :)

    So as i guessed it was a complete sell-out. A catchy toe tapping poppy radio hit but a sell-out nonetheless from what had gone before. The cynical part of me kinda thinks that's more than common in the music business even today....those who blaze the trail of 'revolution' and anti establishment. They get older, more well known and more selfish and their ideals take a back seat to the mighty dollar. That becomes the 'god' and not their 'art'. Sad refection but probably true. There are lots of examples. There is a really interesting video on YouTube called Hotel California LA from the Byrds to the Eagles which documents this. Very much worth watching if anyone has an interest in the history of music. It is all about exactly what we're talking about with Starship above. ..the corporatization of rock.....and as it says "the death of a dream". There is one interview with a member of the Eagles who openly admits "We just took it to the bank"....
