That would be one of the sports that is even more exciting at the Paralympics.

Go for it I say. The skateboarding this year was incredible, so I'd love to see what breakdancers can do. Anyone who likes rhythmic gymnastics can't really argue against breakdancing being included.

Skateboarding and Roller skates should be olympic,
although maybe one of them got in on the last edition..

    Never though of Breakdancing,
I guess it will be interesting.. but I'd say Capoeira goes first?

A single one of those kicks could KO anyone, if not kill straightaway,
so yeah they're not really fightin, which makes it harder to evaluate..

JiuJitsu has been included on next one, which is probably more of a rankable/evaluable sport tho..

Actually, modern breakdancers are closer to a gymnast/acrobat hybrid. High level shit:

It absolutely deserves a spot in the olympics.
B-boys are gymnast without the equipment. And i'm not talking about kids who just up rock or pop and lock.

After I saw how skating was dealt with at the 2021 Olympics I'd say stay the f away from Olympics. Besides the fact the the whole Olympic is a bunch of corrupt assholes, breaking is dead anyway. Nobody does it on a larger scale and that's important for a sport to become "worthy" of Olympics – not so much the athletic and sportive aspects of it.

Breaking had a hype in the early to mid 80s. Once hip-hop music had its breakthrough as an entertainment business, breaking sort of became this niche thing nobody could market and make money off of (except clothing lines like Adidas).

Olympics are filled with as many kid diddlers as the catholic church.

It's not my place to decide what's best for break-dancers because I'm not one of them but I do find it impressive what they're doing in the modern world and I've been fond if it as part of an audience. Shit I can't spin on my neck without breaking it.

But I think that niche sports should stay in their own circles and be judged by those that understand that specific sport instead of having some 3rd party judge what they don't comprehend. Especially outcast sports that have always been ridiculed by other sports. Simon Cowell doesn't decide what goes to hell in Chef Ramsays kitchen so why should some fatass decide the fate of the quality of your break dance when he looks like he's about to have a McDonalds sponsored heart attack?

Also the grass isn't always greener on the other side and may end up just destroying that sport as a result because power corrupts but absolute power absolutely corrupts. When something is televised then it's most likely faked, rigged or corrupted by the suits within even if they do get the heads of that specific sport to judge the participants because money talks and bigger money screams.

They need to drive the viewer ratings higher and that's true isn't always what's exciting. Look at wrestling for example, ratings are high because they don't know where the line is drawn between whats real and whats a gimmick. Plus keeping it within their circle will keep the selfish grubby 3rd parties out of ripping you off by taxing your sport even more than it has to be.

Parkour/Free Running in my mind would be a more likely candidate for an Olympic event as a set course could be created (with some safety features included) and judging would have multiple components to critique. The ones who are the best are freaking maniacs and amazing to watch. My hands are bruising just thinking about it.

Wim Hof first caught the attention of scientists when he proved he was able to use meditation to stay submerged in ice for 1 hour and 53 minutes without his core body temperature changing. Since then, he’s climbed Mount Everest in his shorts, resisted altitude sickness, completed a marathon in the Namib Desert with no water and proven under a laboratory setting that he’s able to influence his autonomic nervous system and immune system at will.

Almost everything Wim has done was previously thought to be impossible - but he’s not a freak of nature.
To demonstrate that any human can learn his methods, Wim offered to teach Matt Shea and Daisy-May Hudson to climb a freezing cold mountain in their shorts without getting cold. But when Matt and Daisy signed up for the training, they had no idea that the so-called Iceman was planning to lead them on a psychedelic journey across Europe that circled the chasm between science, spirituality, and mystery.

Meet The Superhuman Wim Hof: The Iceman

Meh, I haven't really been into the Olympics for at least a few decades now.

They can put in what they want, but as rule I am not for any "sport" that involves subjective judging of 'performances.' There are some gray areas like diving where forms have set values and a difficulty multiplier but even then I am always suspect of any 'sport' where winning involves someone else's feelings on the matter.

A derivate alternative could be the Chase Tag thing,
it's been getting bigger in the last few years..

Not as acrobatic and risky, but it's objectively quantifiable..

In fact I always thought the scenario looks kinda metallic/industrial,
it would be cool to see it in more Open spaces alla parkour, with more woody obstacles and whatnot..
within some aesthetic/practical limits ofc, they not jumpy horses lol

Ever since the Capitalistic Virus personally I couldn't give a toss about any, sporting celebs, celebrities, politicians, media presenters, I've become allergic to any person making filthy rich money in this world of corruption, manipulation and GREED. It's time we all refused to let elites take over our daily lives.
