easiest way is probably with absynth,fm7, or string studio ( my approach)
but of course by pure sound design is the best way.

 

Boyz Noize have some hand modulation and probably some automated parameters as well. You can see them trying to do the same thing during live shows but I am almost certain that there are a chain of step sequencers doing the heavy lifting. The sounds under the filters and loopers are not all that interesting just regular fake plucks, samples and Reese baseses. The filter play and loopers and cuts is what defines the style.

I completely agree with all said above.
But my question is about the sound design of that "pluck bass synth", what kind of waves you think are used to do that?
I'm pretty sure its some kind of FM modulation with some detune, anyone here able to recreate that?
