    Thanks dude

Yeah i was wondering about that

I try to get the level of the songs i do to be louder by inserting the waves L2 limiter on the master channel so that the song volume increases

Is this not the correct way to do it?

Do you think it's better not adding anything to the master channel and instead add it to each individual channel/track instead?

hmmm a lot to go through here.

The L2 might have something to do with it, depending on the settings. Also if the tracks level is very high going into the L2 its gonna squash it to hell. Dont put L2s on each individual channel *no*

EQ can help you get a bit more volume. Cut frequencies from each sound that doesnt need those freqs. The low end on the guitars for example and the very top end. This will probably give you a dB or 2 extra. I EQ like a fascist most times and it really helps.

Cool track btw. Sounds like Shane McGowan mixed with some Oasis or something.

Its primarily used solely on the master channel to maximise the perceived volume and stop clipping. For separate tracks like vocal or guitar busses its overkill. A nice bit of soft compression would suit better.

Then again I was doing all sorts of "wrong" things when I started out and sometimes I wish I knew less today. Ignorance led me to doing some very cool (imo) stuff that I probably dont do these days!
