I was testing Windows 11 (2H24 LTSC) on a virtual machine to prepare for a possible transition in case I need to move away from 10 when it reaches EoL. Since I am on my work machine I can't go offline as I need to remain connected remotely to the main studio and everything needs to be legit.

My current setup consists of Cubase 12, Pro Tools, and an Apollo X8P.

The issue arises when launching the iLok Manager or UA Connect, and it's as follows:

From what I gathered from some Apple forum threads, it is a problem with the Bonjour service not meeting Windows 11 LSA criteria. I tried a couple of solutions: the first being disabling LSA (though I’m hesitant to do this as I need to stay online permanently) and adding the DLL to the Security Packages via the registry. However, neither solution worked, and the error continues to occur, preventing me from reclaiming my iLok licenses.

    Any tips to share?

Many suggests to ditchin' Bonjour but for me it's a no no, i need the service up and running. Other solutions proposed seems to work but the problem come back right after rebooting the machine. Thanks for your time anyway.

Okay, it was worth a try. Try getting professional help from AMD, UAD, iLok, or Microsoft. Good luck!

    Open Regedit, go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa

Find Security Packages and double-click it.

In the list that appears, add a new entry: mdnsnsp.dll

Click OK, close Regedit, and restart your PC.

*****However I will advise you ( do not shoot the messenger...)*****

Elevating this to the LSA will mean ability to access plaintext passwords
of authenticated users to that DLL. Giving the Bonjour DLL such high privileges
    could create a security risk.

This is all on Apple for not updating the DLL to be LSA compliant.

That's the second thing I've tried with no luck (there's also a typo in this solution). The suggested UEFI tools was the real fixer.

It's installed by default with iLok License Manager (iLM.)

I have Revo Uninstaller on my system. I just restrict “Bonjour Services” from running automatically at system start-up via Revo. If it needs to run when I open iLM, then I allow it, and then I just restart my computer when I'm finished using iLM.

Yep also tried that and even with the service set to manually I wasnt able to retrieve my licenses. Maybe it's something on my end i dont know... maybe due to the VM itself? By the way the issue is now resolved via the UEFI tools. For now having the Lsa disabled it's not a big deal, I'll see how things will evolve.

That's good to hear from the UEFI tools.

It was taken from Apple forums as they are having a field day there with that problem lol

Yep saw that thread too. I hope they fix it so we can all stop this Bonjour drama.

Sorry to hear that. You guys are all way smarter and far more experienced than I am with this Windows stuff, but just FYI: I'm also running 2H24 LTSC, and, I've transferred licenses and deactivated multiple licenses for multiple plugins via iLM.

I don't know if "Program Compatibility Assistant" has anything to do with Windows Defender, but the last piece of info that I can offer you about my setup is that I have Windows Defender completely removed. Not disabled, REMOVED! It's gone!

I also have Windows 11, UAD plugins and iLok, but everything works fine for me.
I have the service "Bonjour Service.exe" in the Task Manager!
