R.I.P. - Bobby Sherman died in June 2025

Just shortly after Lou Christie, the great, colorful West Coast pop world of the 1960s is mourning the next loss. Bobby Sherman passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 81.

Bobby was a vibrant young star in all areas of his musical talent. With his best-known hit singles "Little Woman," "Easy Come Easy Go," "Julie, Do Ya Love Me," and "La La La (If I Had You)," the hardworking Californian achieved gold and platinum status and appeared on all the top TV shows of the era, such as "American Bandstand," "Where The Action Is," "Shindig," "The Ed Sullivan Show," "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour," and countless others.

As an actor, he also guest-starred on numerous TV series of the time, such as "Emergency!", "F.B.I.," "The Mod Squad," "The Partridge Family," and "The Monkees." Unlike Lou Christie, he had nothing against a bit of surf stardom alongside Fabian or Frankie Avalon. The handsome, sunny boy from Santa Monica toured the country as a picture-perfect teen idol, performing sold-out shows to screaming fans until he suffered temporary hearing loss. left show business and eventually found a completely new calling.

After starting a family and the birth of his two sons, a protective instinct grew within him, which led him to a career as an emergency medical technician. Sherman left the stage and spotlight behind and initially volunteered for the Los Angeles Police Department, where he soon rose to the rank of technical reserve officer. Sherman, a pop star just a few years after his frenetically celebrated career, went on to teach paramedics first aid, later becoming a medical training officer at the L.A. Police Academy and even serving for many years as a reserve deputy sheriff in San Bernardino County.

Although he largely withdrew from public life in the 1990s, Bobby Sherman rejoined the Teen Idol tour with Peter Noone, Davy Jones, and Mickey Dolenz in 1998 and occasionally appeared at charity events.
With his second wife, he founded the Brigitte & Bobby Sherman Children's Foundation, which supported motivated students in Ghana with educational programs, including musicals. Content, supported.

    Rest in peace, Saint Bobby.

    A) kind of shocked to find out that he was still around but I guess that's because of
    B) he had the enormous good sense to get out the entertainment industry intact and go do something else arguably far more worthwhile. Good for him!
RIP Bobby. I'll watch Get Crazy now that I'm thinking of it.
