Blue Cat’s Connector by Blue Cat Audio is a new plug-in that lets you route audio and MIDI between applications, between several computers and even within the same application, all with minimal latency. This could be a huge problem solver!

Blue Cat Audio has released Blue Cat’s Connector. The new plug-in is a universal virtual cable for audio and MIDI data. You can use it for things like sending an audio stream from any point in your DAW to another application, solving various routing problems in your DAW and even setting up connections between computers on the same network.

According to my tests, it's running OK with my VST host and DAW, with no noticeable latency.

For once the marketing isn't misleading, if this works fine the possibilities are endless.

Would this replace Virtual Audio Cable, and can you use it to put processing to other computers that you connect to your main machin via LAN cable?

I'm asking myself if and how to merge it within Odeus Asio Link Pro router, if it's compatible, or if it can replace it and so on.
Odeus is EXCEPTIONAL, but I had network glitches/sync issues at times.

BTW it's not clear if there is a standalone version, it didn't find it, in this case it cannot be used as a permanent ASIO router.

I like it, but there's a free VST plugin from Cockos called ReaStream that does the same thing with audio and MIDI, 8 channels. How many channels can this run?

I picked it up. I still will purchase/use something else when I need to see the plugin interface. A great company to support indeed

This is a very cool product! For instance, I have a couple of old plugins that run fine in BlueCat's Patchwork (Intel/Rosetta2 Version) that fail to run in Logic on my M1 regardless of whether I set Logic to run under Rosetta2 or ARM. Even loading the plugin through Patchwork within Logic failed.

With Connector, I can run the standalone version of Patchwork, load the plugin, and record into Logic with almost no latency. Previously I had done something similar using Blackhole, but this is much better, because I can record dry, and tweak my effect live and at mixdown. Also, it adds the ability to blend the original recording and the effect, as you like.

I haven't tried it yet, but much like AudioGridder, you should also be able to run Windows plugins to a Mac DAW this way, assuming you have both platforms available.
