I think it is ableton company but of course with a new name, and this is live 9 with another name.
The software looks pretty good tough!
Company's strategies I guess to make money.

Yeah with a more inspiring UI (what really lacks to ableton live) but wait and see...

Its from ex ableton developers and this has been in the pipeline for 2years (so I'm informed)

As for live 9, lets see what namm brings next week, it's way overdue!

i pretty like the piano roll in live - its simple and i have all the tools i need.
so far i signed up for the beta test of bitwig ;) impressed really.
hmm i really hope they will bring us live 9 soon and ofc without dongles ...

i mean they are at 8.2.8 beta now as the beta forum of ableton says - i think its enough for version 8 - time for 9!

but until is happening ill have some crazy hours with bitwig :) :bleh:

Yeah me too, hope 1 of us at least gets the chance to test it out.

Will post a review if given the opportunity.

    Well, it's all about preference.

I suppose I really hate Lives piano roll because of how functional and intuitive FL Studios is... And plus, I have been using it for years.

But I really like this Bitwig and I am at the point where I absolutely NEED 64 bit now because of my system build upgrade. And I really do not feel comfortable composing in Reaper or S1 at all. Esepcially S1, I simply cannot work in that environment.

I just didn't like the GUI or how it handles MIDI. Admittedly, I didn't spend much time with it but I just found the workflow very counterintuitive.

Its like you say its all about preference. Personaly I don't like the look of FL and its always put me off from using it. Live ain't that great to look at but I love the way it works and how you do things.

Coming from Ableton Live, is the workflow in Studio One pretty the same for me.
Drag and drop everything..., open Menu in rare cases or when exporting.

FL Studio didn't do it for me, but I love the piano roll of it.
It's really the best with the most functions I have seen so far.
I wish Studio One had such a strong piano roll.
I mostly like that you can cut the added note vertical and sideways.
Have seen a tutorial how a guy made arpeggios out of harmonic chords.
    That was so impressive...!

But I didn't go for FL Studio..., I went to use Cubase then Live and finally now to Studio One.
Was never happier with a DAW like now with S1...

Seems to be a pretty serious Ableton challenger, lots of things are missing in Ableton : multi-monitor, 32/64bits supports ...

It looks more "Steinberg Sequel" than Ableton, but still, it looks pretty cool !

Cant wait to beta-test it !

I've been following this for two years and I'm very excited. Owning Vember Surge and using (the free) ShortCircuit (which blows out many commercial samplers out of the water), this will most likely be as awesome as I've imagined it to be(come). Developers come from Ableton camp (btw, I don't use Live atm) and from Vember. Just wait and see what this might bring.

Modular system, multi-monitor option, PC/mac/linux, 32/64, per-note automation, online multi-user projects, multi-track editing, etc etc

Big Reaper fan here, However it does take some rethinking and time to master. Excellent MIDI and audio. Almost former FL Studio user.

Just put 24 track stems in both (64) FL and Reaper, FL is crying like a baby, starting to spit up, Reaper is shouting BRING IT ON!
