The beta for Bitwig 1.2 has finally started to be released to selected beta testers today. Eventually it will be available to all Bitwig owners to test.

First impressions in the Bitwig forum on KVR seems to be that people are very impressed and no showstopping bugs. Sadly i'm not in the first set of beta testers, so i cant give you any personal opinion on it yet. :(

If any Mod reads this, can we have a Bitwig forum in the Daw section please.

I guess i'll just have to post more often about it, see if i can't up the post count to something more respectable then. :)

Edit: Lol, i'm not replying to myself, honest, there was another post here a moment earlier. :)

Fuck team Bitwig. We waited almost 2 months for an expected beta & then they announce that they are only giving it to selected license holders. Seriously FUCK all of them. I'm happy their shit is eventually going to be cracked... This ruined my entire fucking week.

Felt weird responding to that, but sense that's the answer you will get either way :mates:

That's the way to go, at least double up the amount so there's like a page to start with, again, have a feeling you will get answer similar to this too

If you are going to comment, at least try and get the correct info first. They said that they are rolling out the beta to everyone. They have started with the usual beta testers and the people who first bought Bitwig and then it will be rolled out to everyone.

Yes we have waited a long time, part of that is because they rewrote some parts of the audio systen i think it was. I'd rather wait an additional few months and get something that works properly and that has the ability to be expanded into better things later. Or would you rather they released some bugfest just so you could get it a couple of weeks earlier?

Easy fella, You only waited 2 hrs between posts. I'm on my phone ATM but as soon as I get home and back in front of my box. I'll make sure you get a BitWig thread.

Lol, i posted again in responce to a post from Xsze and he then deleted his post so it looked like i was ranting to an empty thread, :)

Thanks for a Bitwig section Mykal, i think a few more people will be posting about Bitwig after the new beta gets out to everyone.

I read on KVR straight from the Nazi's mouth that only a few beta testers are getting it until even more bugs are sorted out... This is pathetic. Cant wait to sell my legit copy & DL the cracked version once its been broke.

Thats how beta's work, it goes out first to a selected group of people who can be relied upon to give an accurate accounts of bugs, what lead to the bug and what equipement was in use at that time. Its not as if they are keeping the finished version away from you just to annoy people, its about making the software better in the shortest period of time.

Be thankful that you will, in the end, get to join in this beta test, it doesn't happen like that normally with other daw's. Have you ever been allowed to join in a beta test before with Cubase, Sonar etc?

I have been in the past lucky enough to get to test a few betas for games and the general public never even gets to find out about the beta testing done there. Although i've got to say most new games released nowadays seem like betas upon release and get loads of patches released right away to fix bugs that should never have seen the light of day.

Mods can't make these kinds of changes so you'd need an admin to sign off on it which I already have a while back. When we relaunch I promise you that we will have this software added as a section in our DAW subforum. The reason this doesn't happen right away is because we generally wait until there are a healthy amount of threads up first.

On a somewhat related subject, I recently made a lot of recommendations for the relaunch and I wanted to have some community input but I prefer to wait until we unveil the new site first so we can see what needs we have that the new platform isn't meeting. The initial unveiling will up the ante on the amazing experience we have here and will be a step up in many different areas and afterwards we can refine the formula. Otherwise we will end up getting delayed adding all bells and whistles right off the bat and believe me we've designed plenty already. It's a serious undertaking as is because we're gonna be changing our platform and it will be a big adjustment for all of us even staff due to the learning curve. Be sure that amazing things are on their way. *yes*

Come on man. Is that really necessary? Germany is the synth capital of the world and BitWig is a good developer. No need for that. *no*

    dmoll
Equally unnecessary. Two wrongs don't make a right. *no*

Steinberg and Cubase and so is VST also German software/inventions. Dont use German software you then. Lots of German inventions, medicals etc. save life on planet earth every day, so there are also good germans who work without payment to help people or planet Earth. Yes I live in Germany and I am turkish and yes here are also Nazis/rassists/other thype of morons as much as everywhere on the world (see your comment)

You forgot about Emagic(Original Logic)and Ableton,FFS even Studio One is developed in Germany, when you really look at the whole situation, We Germans invented DAWs.

I am looking forward to this, hopefully bitwig owners will all get their hands on this soon. I honestly enjoy bigwig quite a bit more than ableton (or could fathom doing so anyway once it becomes more "complete")

    Hey krismiller1982,
fascism isn`t a german invention and since it went global the "nazi tag" appears to be outdated, except for rednecks favouring pathetic statements (?) ...
I share your disappointment about Bitwig development to a certain degree, just for very different reason.

A Bitwig section is very welcome here, knowing it`s the worst time to ask for, though.
I won`t give it a try before V.2.0 most likely, still appreciate more threads about it and to bring the new section naturally to life.

    Thanks Willum!

    Here
I can't believe that bigoted comments (about Germans) have been allowed to be posted here.

Germans are great. Get to know some. And some Filipinos, and some Koreans, and some Nigerians, and some . . .

I'm not a racist. & calling someone a Nazi doesn't make me one. Just like the release of 1.2 beta, then finding out only a select few get to use it felt like a kick below the belt. As a customer, I felt the overwhelming need to say something below the belt. You know the old saying "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." right?? Get a grip people, 99.99% dare I say 100% of you here use illegal & pirated software. Which is worse? a thief or a racist? In GOD's eyes they are one in the same. So go ahead & cast that stone. But know you're in the same company. With that being said, I sincerely would like to apologize for saying something like that in blind anger. Words like that dont belong anywhere in a civilized world, even though this world looks less civilized with each passing day. Unfortunately nobody is perfect. Personally I have a temper, & when I feel "fucked over" I get angry real fast.... So, as a member of this community, I'm sorry
