TRANSIENT?

In acoustics and audio, a transient is a high amplitude, short-duration sound at the beginning of a
waveform that occurs in phenomena such as musical sounds, noises or speech. It can sometimes contain
a high degree of non-periodic components and a higher magnitude of high frequencies than the harmonic
content of that sound. Transients do not necessarily directly depend on the frequency of the tone
they initiate.

Which is better? If the sound has high/great transients, or not?

Usually, it's better if the tone has trainsents. For example with the kick it's important for the sound to
not only chug in deep frequency, but also slap. If the sound doesn't have enough transient, there are some
ways to correct the sound. The first is to mix the original sound with a short-term high frequency sound.
The second way is to higher the first note for a little time. The first part of the violent plugin series
works with the latter. The adjustment options are likely to a compressor, but the result is different.

Important: Do not use the Transient after the compressor in the effect chain! The best way is when the plugin
is first.

These devs should understand.. a good UI is vitally important to a LOT of prospective customers.

 

Especially for the ones who fall for the placebo effect.
I'm mainly interested on how they sound, but yeah, visuals are a nice addition too.
Tho' the GUI is not that worse and for me it doesn't look like a big turn off either.

Idk. But DigitalFishPhones made something similar (with Dominion) like 10+ years ago...and it was/is freeware. It's also 32bit VST 2.4.

the compressor does look awful.

the knobs have some silly shine.
and the slots for a rack unit just totally wasting space on the screen (ok thats not exactly a big issue but pretty pointless)

 

I didn't say it's great, but it's not that worse either. I'm wondering if any of you guys would give up a great sounding tool just because the way it looks. That would be something counter-passion in a sound world. It's like you wanna hear the sound, but actually prefering the eyes to do it instead of ears. (that's exactly where placebo kicks in on some individuals)
I don't say this plugin is great already. Just by looking at the "32bit" specs, i'm already concerned about its development depth, but anyway. If a plugin sounds tremendously great but features the s**ttiest GUI in this world, i wouldn't mind to faithfully make it my go-to tool. It's all about sound afterall, especially if you don't come from a "photoshop"-related world.
