Exactly what kind of bin is this? Mac has had various kind of bin. Often people archive old Mac software with a MacBinbary encoding to keep the resource forks from being stripped away. These would look like:
Samples.toast.bin - toast ISO image, MacBinary file
OldMacProgram.sit.bin - software in a stuffit archive in a MacBinary file

If that's the case, then I recommend the Windows version of Stuffit Expander. Practically all old software and samples from the Mac world used Stuffit in some form:

The other obvious option is a .cue/.bin image file pair. If so, then an HFS driver and typical CD image tools should work. It sounds like that's what you've tried already.

Another option is to open the file in a text or hex editor and see if it starts with a program name or file type. Not something I am eager to do with CD image sized files, but it has resolved such issues before.

    STOP!!!!

All of what I have told you here is valid, and might be useful in the future. BUT I just remembered reading your other post, so I know which disc image you are having problems with. It is a stubborn one with real problems that I had to use arcane software on an ancient system to open. I am re-naming all of the files to give them extensions and remove a few problematic characters, and you will see them upped on the other site most tomorrow.

Not sure about HFS+, but my personal fave (if anyone's interested) for BIN/CUE files on Windows is...
