How am I supposed to open this under Windows 7?
Tried everything: can't mount them (some programs mount them but it's blank/some random generic error); can't extract them with anything. Tried converting to ISO but nothing.

Am I missing something? Maybe I need to actually burn a CD?

EDIT: I'm right now reading that I need to use Kontakt AFTER mounting the file. Let's try

CDXtract, Extreme Sample Converter or perhaps Translator!

I forgot to mention I tried two of those: Chicken Translator and CDXtract: none of them worked. One gave an error and the other one showed nothing.

So here's what I did: mounted the bin file. Opened Kontakt, and it now shows as a drive called ENSONIQ. That's cool, sounds are there, but damn I hate Kontakt. Is there anyway to export the samples into wav format? I can't figure it out, unless to load ALL instruments at once I guess?

poweriso 6.x mounts it too, then use CDXtract to convert it to wave.

    Thanks for the answers

I'm really having a hard time figuring this out. Why is it so hard to extract some audio files from a bin?
I just got PowerISO (I was using a freeware) but it's not working at all with this particular file (by the way, it's Dance Trax by Masterbits)

If I got it right, these are the steps:
    1) mount bin/cue image using PowerISO
    2) open the mounted virtual disc using CDXtract
    3) convert everything inside to wave

    But I can't even get 1 to work :(

The answer is simple: Neither Extreme Sample Converter nor CDXtract can handle Ensoniq images at all.
Only Kontakt, Chicken Sys Translator and some freeware Ensoniq tools (dunno if downloads are still available from Forums) will allow you to read the contents.

Mount the image and try Kontakt first! If you have successfully mounted the image and (re)started Kontakt, you should see it on the very bottom of the Kontakt file browser.

    To answer your second question:
If you use a Kontakt version below 4.2, you can save programs in nki+WAV format and use e.g. CDXtract or Extreme Sample Converter to convert to whatever you like.
