Hi, Just updated BFD3 program and the core library to the latest version but it crashes when I load up a kit. It works fine in standalone mode. Help!

I found BFD would cause problems during VST scanning (in both Live and Studio One. Samplitude -- the only one I do no MIDI work in -- is the only one that got along with it). But only sometimes. So you'd think it's okay for a while, then it'll crash your DAW.

I gave up and uninstalled it before I really even made an effort to test it. Anything that regularly malfunctions isn't something I want to make music with.

  6. Same here. FXpansion continues to release new libraries even if the "machine" is bugged as hell.
I've take my refund in 60 days. I really recommend to do this to any legit owner.

I'm an avid bfd user and reaper as well! I've never had any problems with 64bit versions of both! I've been using bfd since version 2 and it has always worked excellent for me. It is buggy. But I don't feel that the dll itself is bugged. It's the license manager. The license manager is an asshole. You have to have everything authorized properly or it won't load. All fxpansion products must be authorized. Also, depends on which presets you load on startup. I always had my own preset loading on startup and never had any problems. Gives me problems when I try to load a factory preset. Maybe change preferences to not load a startup preset. Bfd is hands down the best drum software (minus the license manager)! The sound quality, low CPU for me, response to my edrums, the built in sequencer, groove builder, and song palette, all there light years ahead of ez! My only complaint is it takes a while to load up and check authorizations. Once it's done loading though, well worth the wait!

I used it BFD3 with Studio One and it just crashes it so it's a waste of time. If tater-One has a preset he can share I'm willing to try it out. I find that after investing so many gigs on my hard drive to this great sounding drum module it should just work. Superior drummer works flawlessly but I admit I love the sound of BFD

If you really want my preset I will share it with you. But just trying changing prefs to not do anything on startup. And my presets all use the Evil Joe Drums, so you would have to have those too. And finally, I don't know which dependicies BFD needs, like .net or C+ Redistributables. But I am OCD about those kinds of updates on my pc. I have had games and music apps stop working after you install a C+ package. So I always install them in order starting from the 2005 ones. So, I don't know if that makes a difference too?

Just noticed you said it loads fine but crashes loading a kit. Just try waiting, it takes a good 5 min at least for BFD to load a kit all the way for me.
