so i installed the rev3 release of BFD3.2.2 from V.R
it works fine except every time it's launched it goes straight to the lib scan screen (see attachment) and does a full scan of the data folder.
it completes this ok and works from them on but is a PITA to sit through every time it's loaded.
behaviour is the same in standalone or as VSTi
is this normal for this release?
    i tried re-installing but it's the same
    can i fix this?

    OR

alternatively, i could use the R2R release but that won't accept newer libs from V.R like Metal Snares which i'd like to try.

so, is there a way to manually auth these newer libs to work with the R2R 3.2.2 release?
their keygen doesn't include these yet..

    specs:
    fresh install
    Win 10 x64 (ver 1709 build 16299.192)
usiing elevated Admin account & everything set to Administrator incl all .exe files
    no 3rd party Antivirus installed

    thanks

Well actually I had the same problem with the R2R install, except the fact that it would also scan all the fxpansion plugins and licenses on repeat.
The VR versions only brings up the libraries prompt. If anyone has a fix to this, major kudos.

I installed the release some time ago and didn't get the "ever scanning lib folder" problem on Win10 x64 1607 with no admin rights for the host DAW or the standalone.

Just a thought: Your drive is F:\ Is it a mapped network drive or an external HDD? Maybe BFD3 handles removable drives another way than built in because it couldn't predict the drive is connected?
Try to install it using an internal disk (or using the old "subst" command to mask it for the OS)

    thanks for the replies..

the F:\ drive is a partition on a HD inside my DAW.. so a regular data drive.. no system files.
this doesn't happen with the R2R release but then i can't use the newer libs from V.R
i'll give it a few days and see if someone has a solution.. otherwise i'll probably go back to the R2R version & hope they update their keygen.

I think maybe you have to license the bfd 3 core-library. My suggestion but I'm not really sure.

Dallen, you got me thinking and it turns out it was due to some BFD2 lib content on the data drive not being authorised.
once that was authorised in license manager BFD3 stopped throwing the lib scan at every launch.

    thanks for your help guys

I installed the VR release which gave me all kinds of problems in Sonar. I couldnt open any libraries or any of my old projects that contained BFD. I then installed the the R2R without deleting the VR. IT kept the Liscense manager from the VR release which allowed me to install all of the newer libraries as well as all of the old libraries. I dont know what happened but it works with the stability of R2r and the expansions of the VR release. Give it a try and see what happens
