Is this a real bass or a synth , reminds me of neptunes, is this a synth preset in Triton. I know the neptunes used that synth heavily. Sounds is at 4 seconds.

 

The Pick bass patch from a 360 Systems Midibass. EMU Proteus 2000 series also has that Pick Bass sound.

 

I think that any old pick bass patch on any old sampler is close enough for horseshoes on that one.

I haven't really heard or sought out the new Beyonce releases, this is really ugh. What happened?

if that's not your taste, there's a few FM synth presets or other synths
which will work! i still use FM7 for presets

Neptunes used a lot of Rick James samples. There are a lot of multi-tracks of Rick James songs/basslines that you can cut up, highpass-filter and throw into a sampler.

 

if you stick the emu into the emu, is that like some sort of Production Turduckin?

These sounds are all in the ultra proteus as well. probably the 1000 and the 2000. you can find all of these cheaply. They aren't an sp-1200.
