Best way to make new vocals blend with premixed track in DAW.

    I have a client that wants to record vocals on top of a fully mixed backing track.
    Without any processing it sounds pretty lame. Like it's sitting on top of the mix
    instead of in it. Any suggestions?

    Even though I'm not a friend of it, in this case I'd try Trackspacer (in M/S mode) And use the same reverb on the vocs and the track (maybe even to different amount) to merge both a bit more - apart from the usual EQ and compression thing, ofc.
