May I suggest LosslessCut if you're not too keen on using command line and FFMpeg? FFMpeg is great and LosslessCut uses it for cutting videos into segments, erasing the bits you don't like, and saving them separately or merged, without any loss in quality. It leaves the video as it is, just without the unnecessary bits of your choosing. Like when the "prn" you like has a 20 min intro, only to have 10 min of action. Editing videos is very simple and quick. Even fun I'd say, but that mostly depends on the video material, I reckon. You can also save all the tracks within the video into separate files without any loss of quality, video as well as audio. It's a great open source and multi-platform program I've been using for years now. You can use it to edit any audio files losslessly, too.

reaper. import video -> export audio -> import audio back, mute video's audio. ciao

 

I use it since a pair of years to cut & merge dvb recorded sessions, I think is the best tool for lossless cut & merge. Easy as pie, beautifully effective.
