    Hey guys,

Just curios what your favourite goto synth is for rhythmic / arpeggiated patches are? And for favourite expansion that goes with it?

Something where I can hit one key and it fill out a track nicely. Something that gives the track more body but without overpowering anything else.

Looking forward in seeing what floats your boat

    Rob Papen - Predator
    Vengeance - Avenger
    Reveal Sound - Spire
    reFX - Nexus 5
    Xfer - Serum
    U-he - Diva

Arpeggios are usually marked with the abbreviation ARP or AR.
Sequences are usually marked with the abbreviation SEQ or SQ.

Currently having an affair with a DSI Poly Evolver (hardware) - or in VST land, U-He synths are always great, take your pick of that litter really. There is an endless list of others that can sound really good, so to narrow it down, I guess it kind of depends on the genres you work with, some are geared to one more than others (workflow wise). Dune, Virus, Nexus, Serum... even stock DAW synths can do the job very well. The key is often about layering and EQing, creating space, finding a balance between parts and end up with one big cohesive sound. I say, use what you have, through trial and error and experimentation, it'll help you develop your own unique sound and workflow.

If however you're looking for 1 button push glory, I dunno, try some of those randomizer plugins for SEQ/ARPs? :dunno:

This is your mix, not the synth you use. I really like all the MidiFX (MFX) plugins we have now, because mb for mb in file size, they can change your sound more than any other option. Pattern Sequencers, Arps, and some other odd ones. For software synths, I like the Omnisphere, OsTIrus arps, and others in the same style; the same width as the entire gui of the plugin. I rather have all of that midi data hitting the synth plugin from a separate midi device, because should I decide to switch the synth plugin entirely to something else later on, I just need to make a new patch and not remake the pattern data.

MIDI arp plugins (sometimes with own audio engine and way above traditional arps):
    • BLEASS Arpeggiator
    • Toneworks Catalyst
    • Modalics EON-Arp
    • Pitch Innovations Eternal Arps
    • Pitch Innovations Groove Shaper
    • Mario Nieto Harmony Bloom
    • ADSR hexcel
    • ADSR Orbit
    • HY-Plugins (enough MIDI arps for a life)
    • Evabeat Melody Sauce 2
    • Venomode Phrasebox 2
    • 510k Arts Seqund
    • K-Devices TATAT
So for me i can use which virtual synth i want.
