The best site for downloading music in FLAC is one with the most elaborate-yet-transparent butt-covering legal disclaimers or the lamest provisions for those whose music has been posted illegally that all they have to do complain, and the site admins will remove the links from the site (though they supposedly have no access to deleting the uploaded files themselves). It usually has hi-def digital releases and "24/96" vinyl rips, with 600dpi artwork scans, and bonus-CD or -DVD content if applicable. It's not unusual, either, for this site to take an established band's career-spanning releases and represent downloads thereof as a "complete discography." It also usually offers both FLAC and MP3@320 downloads, and uses at least two different sharing services; when links go dead (after artists or their labels or management complain, o'course), they diligently "re-up" with links from different sharing services when users complain. This site is so great for music in FLAC that it's perpetually having to restore its presence with a different domain suffix or a re-spelling of its familiar domain name, since the RIAA and the Feds keep threatening its admins, and it might have to end up with an .ru domain and members-only access. Lastly, this site is "really good about" proclaiming that "these downloads are for preview purposes only. If you like what you hear, support the artists!" (Whatever that's supposed to mean.)
