Haters gonna hate but theres nothing better and smoother than a MacBook with any of the m-series chip

 

I am sitting on my Lenovo Legion 5 and it works great. Also have a Lenovo Legion 7 i use for video and graphics but tested it with music and its also rock solid. .. i have tried smaller laptops but the smaller power supplies just means they are not ment to handle the constant load of a DAW. So even if a gamer laptop is a bit bulky and the power supply is a brick its very very much worth it. And i like that the Lenovo Legend has a quiet mode so i can switch between full power and noisy and low noise for normal use. Because being able to not have a high fan noise when recording or just sitting working on not so loud parts are really important.

 

If it's still under warranty, you should open a support ticket. Lenovo's customer service is great, probably the best out there. My Legion 5 Pro had a USB port die on me, and they sent a tech to a local shop with a new motherboard within two days. Solid rock since then.
Quick tip for power/temps management: ditch Lenovo Vantage and use Lenovo Legion Toolkit instead.

Agreed about the planned obsolescence, but that is an INDUSTRY imposed roadblock not a hardware one.

The os and hardware OEM's all want folks to believe that b.s. line, but anyone who is savvy enough to see past that line of crap know that the hardware will run for as long as it can - 15-20 years+ in most cases. Just because apple or ms says they don't support it anymore does not mean the hardware stops working. Or when "updates" for the system OS are announced as "stopped" and there is no support for the next-gen spyware filled OS. The hardware continues to work and it will be found that the "updates" never did shit in the first place. I have a win7 notebook that I use all the time that runs as perfect as it did when I got it ~15 years ago. Never subjected it to win-update, nuked all the mickeysoft junk like defender a/v and fw and run 3rd party fw/av. It's been purring along on the internet for years and will continue to do so for many more...
