Hi Everyone I was wondering If someone could help me with some info

Is their a muti level compressor , software or hardware , up to a certain level-range input it would compress 2 to 1, then the next level-range 4 to 1, then the next level-range 10 to 1

    I guess
it would be like 3 compressors daisy chained together or a piece of software with variable compression over a level range

    Thank You for your help

    Thank you

I thought multiband compressor work for different frequency ranges

this would be like serial compression one unit for gentle compression, one for higher volume, and one for drastic peaks

different compression ratios for different audio levels

in one hardware unit, or in software I guess you could just put two or three together on the same track ,

use it on vocals , or mix it back in to improve the vocal performance

I'm not sure what you want to do, but Waves C6 is very good !

    The Logic's Multipressor good too

But I guess Audio Damage Rough Rider Pro is more what you are looking for !

EDIT : Just see your last message, ok so Waves C6 is the shit ! There's plenty of other ones but can't remember the names...

Series Mode: For three Rough Riders in a row.

Yes rough riders was great info , just wondering if their is a hardware unit that does this

instead of using two or three compressors in series , then use this to mix back into the original vocal

    for better sound and clarity

Thanks Antilles that was the hardware I was looking for

Thanks S.LEE that Vengeance Mastering Suite: Multiband Compressor looks really cool sounds kick-ass

Thanks Jessycd for Rough Rider Pro It could do the job

use it for I guess they call It parallel compression , New York sound , take your lead vocal

mix it back in with the compressed version , balance dry to wet for your taste

can use it on drums , etc . nice for the hardware setup to do it live on the vocals and keep it clean

Thebulletinthegun is right : what you're looking for is the Neodynium plugin. It can do exactly what you're asking for : compress separately different volume ranges.

Rough Rider and Vengeance Multiband work with different frequencies ranges, not different volumes.

EDIT : not sure if I can post this kind of link so I won't. I've checked, the 1.0.3 can be found very easily.
