    Hey there,

since I'm using ableton m1 and cracked filterbank doesnt work with m1 anymore, I'm looking for sth to replace it. I even bought the og filterbank but unfortunately the legit version has insane loading times and requires a dongle to run. I tried fab filter pro q3 but didnt like the sound and the visual nature of it.
Is there any other lightweight EQ plugin that lets you eq more with your ears than with eyes?
I dont need a ton of features, just sth to cut and boost stuff quickly.
I really dont like the phasey sound of EQ8 stock EQ....

The EQ kills transient energy and phase relationship. Compare a low cut on a drumloop with EQ8 and an more expensive 3rd party plugin.

you got other issues if your eq'ing is creating noticeable phase issues like that. I only get that issue if I'm doubling a track and changing some of the frequencies on only one track... I think your routing or whatever you are doing is off or something

no I just think your monitoring isnt good enough if you cant hear what EQ does to phase. There's a reason you dont use EQ8 on the master lol

Edit: Here's a demonstration of phasey sound: watch

    I'd say Reaper's REaEQ in VST2 version here: https://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/
But I agree with others in that is strange you've problems with both Pro-Q and Live stock. Perhaps FilterBank does something others EQ don't?

that's clearly will give phase problem if you have multiple tracks with almost the same low end content ie. another single kick track layer. There's a reason people using Linear Phase EQ for that job. Unless it's on Linear Phase mode, no other EQ in the world will solve it on minimum phase or zero latency mode. EQ Eight doesn't have Linear Phase mode so yeah maybe you gotta use something else. I personally like the DMG Audio Equilibrium for that, but it is not light on CPU. No other Linear Phase EQ is though because of how it does its thing.

Human brain doesn't hear static phase shift tho. On top of that, every non-linear-phase filter changes phase in the same way relative to the curve. What you hear in your video is ringing and filter curves differences, not phase response by itself.
Since you didn't like Pro-Q for some reason, which literally does nothing extra to the sound, I don't even know what to recommend. TDR SlickEQ has visual curves only as an option, I guess.

    How about DDMF's 6144? Proportional Q, 2 cuts, 2 shelves, 3 bells https://ddmf.eu/6144-equalizer-plugin/

This is reserved for the GE version, the free one has none.

Maybe something with some saturation like RARE by Analog Obsessions may help..?

Well I Mainly use my KZ ZS10 PRO IEM's when I mix. But I also dont mess with loops, I make my own with individual tracks, separately eq'ed so I never put myself in the situation you find yourself in... where you are saying you can "hear the sound" of transparent eq's... that honestly makes no sense and it sounds like you are working with heavily processed loops that are eq'ed already... When you eq a loop, you are eqing a compressed signal... I always run eq before compression

    DMG Equilibrium is fully customisable.
    You can configure everything.

I get that but I just like playing stuff. I make some lofi stuff and even the beats in lofi soundpacks dont have the vibe I like. Rarley do I come across a "lofi" pack that is not using double timed beats. Instead of taking the time to edit that lofi beat loop to have the feel I want with a given sample... Ill just take the one shots and throw them into speedrum or something and play them myself while the sample plays on repeat until I find a groove I like and go from there.... Just sounds more human that way to me

I use Crave Eq, Pro q2 or Reaeq if i have a need to lower CPU use.
