i want to start a good thread in this forum and solve some doubts with cabinet IR's, i saw an Ola Englund's video where he says that the cab and microphone it's the most part of the sound, so what do you think?, what IR's are the best in the market?. Don't forget to mention your best Impulse loader, and if you know tell me how to use reflktor to load IR'S (the settings). Thanks

ownhammer, 3 sigma audio, rosen digital, cabir.eu, redwirez- these are good commercial IRs I am aware of.

there's also amp factory and fractal audio IRs, but these are axe-fx proprietary, I believe.

other options would be recabinet impulses and torpedo wall of sound III, which is flexible, since you don't have to buy the software, you just buy any torpedo cabinet you like and it works.

loaders, well, lecab, nadir, pulse, sir2, boogex, recabinet, blendir, mixir, you name it.

ownhammer, rosen digital and jst ir

recabinet 5 is the best ir loader because of the "Dynamics" option, which simulates irregular movements of speaker's cone. Until Recabinet amp sims had never cut it for me because of their ugly flatness.

Set a custom IR folder using File > Preferences > Options > Preferences Reflektor User IR Path
For IR located in other locations use the drop down arrow at 1 and Select an IR folder then use 2 to browse within that folder.
I believe this only works in the full version of Reflektor

The wet yes. The dry no. I set the dry high when I use GR to process drums but if you're going for a more realistic guitar simulation that wouldn't be a good idea, especially if you have multiple components loaded before Reflektor. "Dry" in this case isn't your completely unprocessed guitar signal, it's everything processing the signal before it hits Reflektor.

Still, it all comes down to taste, bro. Sometimes a little dry is needed but usually an amplified dry signal will completely destroy the convolution effect.

I like ownhammer the most, have the better bass and highs imo, redwirez is super versatile too. For loader, Lecab or the MixIR from Redwirez

what about nebula?, i don't want to install it but i want a video explaining the differences. make a comparision please

Why don't you want to install it? :dunno:
Nebula based on convolution and to quite honest the technology side etc can be a little confusing at first
I suppose put real simply Nebula itself more used wrt impulse response itself.
Whilst it can emulate things like distortion\overdrive\ saturation it doesn't do it all that brilliantly.
Number of terms in Volterra series\polynomials etc would have to be real large to mimic distortion circuits etc.
This would mean CPU would be off the wall and CPU usage can be pretty big anyhow
However like most things there are ways around that should you go a bit deeper.
One of it's strengths is fantastic reverbs.
Big CPU usage like stated but as well as with great reverbs it can also bring you so much more wrt capturing analog hardware sound etc.
Nebula 4 just about to be released & looks absolutely awesome.
There is a completely free version with reduced library etc and if in doubt just give it a go.
If not for the reverbs it brings you so much more

Edit & if you do check it out or not done already while you at it check the free Aqua plugins that are on offer
Not biased & don't work for them lol :rofl:but in all honesty they are possibly the "best" free plugins on offer
