And in the end, what does it give you? A few more tracks of running real time. In my opinion, so not worth the money.

    Well said...

I love my nvidia GForce GTX 660. Comes in handy for those days, I wanna do non-music related stuff like gaming. Sorry, I am aware that I was bit off the topic there. However, honestly I never thought a video card had much effect on music software to be honest. But then again I could be really wrong also. :dunno:

I just use the intel graphics chip that's on my motherboard. Doesn't lag up for anything audio related. :dunno:

Unless you're playing games, I don't see the point of investing in a high end graphics card. Any one from the last few years should do the job no problem. Go for cheap unless you're going to be gaming. Invest more in Ram than in a graphics card.

Depends on your resolution as well. If you have a little monitor, then yea', the integrated chip will do the job, but for big ass monitors with higher resolution, certain plugins have GPU support and if you don't have a dedicated GPU then all the processing will be supported by the CPU.

Ok jusst to stir the pot, I have used UAD for years and stopped after they dropped support for my cards that cost me thousands...(incl. plugs)

So when Nebula released Cuda versions I perked up...

I just went through trying out the server/cda/bridge all on 64 bit/Os/SonarX3/Nebual...I am not running some massive machine...its a quad core and only 8 gigs of ram, and it has an olde nVidia based GTX 460 (which has 480 cuda cores)...

So once I got through the learning curve and things set up (all free versions right now to test) I was able to run over 25 instances of a reverb with extrme tails on the Cuda part of my video card...Sonar only showed 30% cpu, the real WIndows % was around 62%...

But I could never do that with a dedicated UAD card...never...not that many instances...this is all with second tier computer gear...if the OP will simply get over to nvidia and choose a card that is rated for CUda/optimized he can do much more i am sure...they have a list of which cards do it best, currently the Titan is a monster, but it is less money than a UAD-2 and even if you figure in the cost of Nebula Pro and some high end proggys you will still be well under UAD cost for soemthign that frankly sounds as good or better...

Yes it's a clusterflak of a gui, yes it's a pain in the a## to learn but a week later (this is my first attempt at it) I was incredibly impressed...the sound is well worth it...

    Your mileage may vary...
