Darksichord 3 Lite is sourced from the 3 sound layers that made up the original version, but now comes with different textures and nuances for a much darker sound and more character.

The interface is user-friendly and straightforward with ADSR amplitude envelope, LFO modulation, lowpass/highpass filter cutoff, and global tune. New effect modules were added – delay, distortion, and reverb, each of which comes with typical controls and parameters.

From the new Layers section, the level of each layer (Sub, Harpsichord & Organ) can be controlled separately, allowing for in-depth tone shaping.

Fugue State Audio - XORbot (Noise Synth) VST3 - Windows - 64 Bit - Free

XORbot is another fairly simple noisebox synth, and similar to NANDroid in that it uses logical operations to generate sounds, and features a similar modulation setup and synth engine. However, the sound generation method itself is different enough that the range of sounds XORbot can make is quite different– though still quite crude and noisy.

Like NANDroid, there is no MIDI key tracking, though there is a gate and volume envelope that can be enabled and triggered by MIDI notes.

GPU Audio Release Free Modulation Bundle

GPU Audio have announced the first release in their free beta-suite of plugins - the Modulation Bundle, made up of a Chorus, a Flanger and a Phaser, all powered by your computer's graphics card. The bundle is the first installment in a suite of plugins which will include a collection of effects using their patented technology. The Modulation Bundle starts off their groundbreaking beta-suite collection, with further installments being added in bundles in the coming weeks - check the full lineup here. The beta suite illustrates their intent to make GPU audio processing accessible to a huge range of producers, sound designers, and musicians - alleviating the pressure and workload ordinarily placed on the CPU.

In the past few months, they've forged official partnerships with AMD and NVIDIA for Windows systems and there is good news for Mac users - they're working closely with Apple right now to roll out support for macOS in November. The Modulation bundle is initially compatible with NVIDIA GPUs, with AMD support and AAX formats coming soon.

Before the end of the year, they'll be releasing an SDK for third-party developers, allowing for the creation of audio effects, systems, and technologies that break free from the constraints of conventional audio. Saguaro.one - Saguaro.one Synth (Additive) Plugin - Windows - Free

This "very basic" polyphonic (24 voice) additive synth "with a slight oldschool 90's visual touch" is a personal project.

It produces sounds based on mostly naive waveforms using standard toolbox FlowStone oscillators. In different combinations and configurations. No analog emulation, no special unison, no stereo FX, no delays nor reverb built in. Just pure harsh-digital-mono mayhem. In other words... no special internal workings. Well, except for FlowStone's DSP audio engine itself that is.

There is no regular oscillator section exposed on this synth, only three main parameter knobs and a fundamental / saw adjustment.
This is intentional. Very ROMpler'y indeed...

This thread is supposed to be list of the best, not of anything freeware, so we should only put what we really know is good.
The only way we can be convinced that a free plugin / software deserve to be part of this list of the best is to know it and have used it. We should also write why we think it's part of the best.
Otherwise, this would be another simple freeware listing, which does not fit with the thread's title.

It's a tool for incredibly easy track creation for many types of electronic music, or create playbacks in skipping e.g. the HiSq part.

X-Wheel of Fortune 4 is a multipart integrated algorithmic music system for creating tracks based on 8 instruments-parts.
Each patch/preset may be a complete musical track, a track for backing a live performance etc. All this can be arranged in two different ways using the algorithmic Wheel mode for free floating or the Scale step mode for harmonically prestructured tracks.

There are 180 PCM waves (taken from STS-26, ProtoPlasm21 and 'shuniji') for the Pad synthesizers, about 200 Percussion instruments and drums. In addition Sf2 files can be loaded at pad parts and wavefiles for percussion. Now with more than 250 inbuilt scales !

My comment: The "X-Wheel of Fortune 4" is a source of inspiration, you only need to press the play button and it
plays endless sequences. It works without midi keyboard. I am always positively surprised what this machine does.
