    PaulXStretch plugin

PaulXStretch – VST2/AU Plugin for extreme time stretching and other spectral processing of audio

This plugin is based on the PaulStretch algorithm/standalone app. (Paul’s Extreme Time Stretch.)

No manual or demonstration video exists at the moment, but some information follows :

The plugin is only suitable for radical transformation of sounds. It is not suitable at all for subtle time corrections and such. Ambient music and sound design are probably the most suitable use cases.

The plugin can either load an existing audio file from disk to process or it can capture audio from the plugin inputs. (The capture mode is started/stopped with the “Capture” parameter.)

The plugin will require the DAW audio engine to be running on the track it is inserted on. How that is achieved in various hosts is specific to those hosts. Some hosts will just immediately start running the plugin, in other hosts one may need to record/input monitor enable the track or something else needs to be done.

The plugin has lots of latency, that isn’t reported to the host currently. I will have to investigate later what, if anything, can be done about those issues.

I have tested that the plugin loads and runs in :

Windows : Reaper, Ableton Live Lite 9, FL Studio, JUCE plugin host.

Mac Os : Reaper (VST), Ableton Live Lite 9 (VST), GarageBand (AU), Plogue Bidule (VST).

    Change history :

    02-09-2018 1.0.0
-Control/Command click on waveform seeks (if click within active play range)
-Moved prebuffering amount menu to prebuffering meter (click to show)
-Added dummy parameter to tell the host the plugin state has changed when importing files etc.
(May not work properly for undo etc on all hosts.)
-Removed the factory presets as they are not really that useful
    02-02-2018 1.0.0 preview 5
-Added buttons to enable/disable spectral processing modules
-Restored ability to set capture buffer length (via the settings menu)
-Seek to play range beginning when audio file imported
-No longer seeks to beginning of play range when changing FFT size
    -Fixes to waveform display issues
-Double click on waveform selects whole waveform
-Double click on slider resets parameter to default value
-Show prebuffering ready amount graphically instead of text
-Highlight related parameters when spectral processing module clicked in the module chain
    01-05-2018 1.0.0 preview 4
-Added reset parameters (except main volume and input pass through) command to settings menu
-Added option to settings menu to ignore loading imported audio file when recalling state
-Added support for dropping audio files to GUI (available functionality depends on host, many will simply
provide the file name of the source of audio file, so audio clip/event/item specific audio won’t be imported)
-Removed an unnecessary level of buffering (doesn’t reduce latency but should help a bit with CPU usage)
    -Added About window
    12-23-2017 1.0.0 preview 3
-Added parameter to set audio input capture buffer length (up to 120 seconds)
-Added parameter allow passing through audio from plugin input
-Inverted the number of harmonics parameter active range
-Added button to show settings menu
-Fix bug when offline rendering in host
-Allow setting background prebuffering amount in settings, including none.
(None is mostly useful in case the plugin doesn’t detect the host is offline rendering.
For real time playback none is likely only going to work with small FFT sizes.)
-Slightly better GUI layout but still mostly just 2 columns of sliders
    -Remember last file import folder
-Added detection of invalid audio output sample values (infinities, NaN)
    12-17-2017 1.0.0 preview 2b
-Fix buffer channel count issue, seems to make AU validation pass consistently
    12-17-2017 1.0.0 preview 2
-Report only 2 input channels to host
-Fixes for using potentially invalid sample rates in internal initializations and calculations
-File import dialog allows importing file formats supported by JUCE, not just .wav
    12-15-2017 1.0.0 preview 1
-Very early public release. Various issues present.

    VST Plugin

We are distributing free VST plugins.

    1.BasicComp
    [IMG]
BasicComp is high-quality VST3 compressor plugin that is focused to compress dynamic range naturally. It is suitable for mastering, vocal track, and drum track.

    2.ITDPanner
    [IMG]
ITDPanner is VST3 panner plugin specialized to control the pan of stereo sound source without sound quality degradation. ITDPanner never mix left channel and right channel, so it has no sound quality degradation caused by interference of sound. It is based on ITD(Interaural Time Difference)control and balance control.

    3.DRAnalyzer
    [IMG]
DRAnalyzer is a VST spectrum analyzer that can analyze the dynamic range for each band. Although the normal spectrum analyzer can display only the instantaneous value of the spectrum, DRAnalyzer can display the past spectrums as a distribution. Since it is possible to see the dynamic range for each band from the distribution, compatibility with multiband compressors is outstanding. You can optionally correct the spectrum according to the human auditory characteristics, so you can see the sound as it is heard.

    Fusion-IRs for Reverberate 2

Two Fusion-IR packs are available for Reverberate 2, one with all presets from the Bricasti M7 and Factory Set 1 taken from a range of modern and classic reverbs. Both are made available free of charge.

    Downloads
The Bricasti M7 is a highly prized true stereo reverb processor, widely considered to contain some of the best synthetic reverb algorithms to date, and has been captured for multiple impulse response packs freely available online. Commonly only the first bank of algorithms are available (the version 1 algorithm), although a newer second generation algorithm is available that features a higher degree of modulation. Both have been captured for the LiquidSonics M7 Fusion-IR preset pack.

Due to the nature of the various sources of modulation within the M7 algorithms, the commonly used reverb impulse response sampling approach (typically swept-sine) has the effect of averaging away all of the modulation that is key to much of the character of the M7. This is suitable for a static convolution processor, but the Fusion-IR sampling and processing approach takes multiple snapshots in time of the device and processes them concurrently so is able to much more closely reproduce the character of the original device as it varies over time.

    3.5 Gb Of Hq Ochestral Sf2!Sep 23, 2010Reply
"Over the last 6 months, I was forced to rebuild my soundfont collection, since I had lost it due to a computer change. During this time, I scoured the internet for some of the highest-quality soundfonts, finding some truly unique ones and some great sites. I could just tell you where to find these soundfonts, but it's easier for you if I just give you all of the ones I use. So enjoy 3.5 gigabytes of soundfonts, all grouped into convenient categories.

    Percussion
    Part 1 (182 mb)
    Part 2 (163 mb)

    Strings
    Part 1 (171 mb)
    Part 2 (117 mb)
    Part 3 (28 mb)

    Brass and Woodwinds (166 mb)

Choir, SFX, and Various (138 mb)

Collections- soundfonts that feature many instruments spanning several categories, such as GM banks.
    Part 1 (191 mb)
    Part 2 (163 mb)
    Part 3 (180 mb)

Note: All files are compressed in .rar format, so you'll need winrar to open them. Also, Bellatrix Orchestral, by far the largest soundfont in this collection, is compressed in SFark format. You'll need SFark to use it."

Miss Nord Modular? This hack runs your patches as free software
    Peter Kirn - February 12, 2018

The Nord Modular G2 is one of electronic music’s most beloved departed pieces of gear. Now it gets a second lease on life, for free – with Csound.

You’d be forgiven for not knowing this happened. The work was published as an academic paper in Finland last June, authored by three Russian engineers – one of whom works on nuclear physics research, no less. (It’s not the right image, but if you want to imagine something involving submarines, go for it. That’s where I want my next sound studio, inside a decommissioned nuclear sub from the USSR, sort of Thomas Dolby meets Hunt for Red October. But I digress.)

Anyway, Gleb Rogozinsky, Mihail Chesnokov, and Eugene Cherny, all of St. Petersburg, had a terrific idea. They chose to simulate the behavior of the Nord Modular G2 synth itself, and translate its patch files into use as Csound – the powerful, elegant free software that has a lineage to the first computer synth.

The upshot: patches (including those you found on the Web) now work on any computer, Mac, Windows, Linux, and Linux machines like Raspberry Pi – for free. And the graphical editor that lets you create Nord Modular patches just became a peculiar Nord-specific editor for Csound. (Okay, there are other visual editors for Csound, but that’s still cool, and the editor is still available for Mac and Windows free from the original manufacturer, Clavia.)

And best of all, if you have patches you created on the Nord Modular, now they’ll work for all eternity – or, rather, at least as long as human civilization lasts and keeps making computers, as I’m pretty sure Csound will remain with us for that. Let’s hope that’s… not a short period of time, of course.

    Read the paper here:

pch2csd: an application for converting Nord Modular G2 patches
    into Csound code
[Proceedings of the 14th Sound and Music Computing Conference]

Then give it a go – all you need is a machine that runs Python and copy-paste a couple of lines of code:

    https://github.com/gleb812/pch2csd

Nord say they have no plans to bring back the hardware, but check the updates software on their site:

    http://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads/legacy/nord-modular-g2

    About Sync modular

Sync modular is a modular synthesizer allowing you to build your own synthesizer and sounds. It was developed by a Russian musician programmer in the year 1999. In 2001, the developer was hired by Native Instruments in order to develop Reaktor 5 with core technology.
In 2010, Sync modular became freeware. Download Sync-modular, instruments and macros created by users or build your own synthesizer.

Lovin' it. There are so many fine freebies out there, wonderfully enabling musicians worldwide the possibility to create world class music. If one has electricity, a computer, access to the web and the will to learn some of the basics of the craft, it is possible to record and share your musical output. Throw a microphone into this modern mix of ITB tools to bring in real instruments, a voice or the sound of the world around you...and shazam...the magical world incarnate.

    Musicians
Being the best tool to record talented performers on actual instruments has always been a top priority for Ardour. Plugins with Full Sample Accurate Automation
AudioUnit, LV2, LinuxVST and LADSPA formats. FX plugins. Software instruments. MIDI processors. Automate any parameters. Physically manipulate them via control surfaces. Distribute processing across as many (or as few) cores as you want.

Transport Sync and External Control Surfaces
Best-in-industry sync to MIDI timecode and LTC. Send and receive MIDI Machine Control. Sync with JACK transport and MIDI clock. Dedicated Mackie Control protocol support, pre-defined mappings for many MIDI controllers plus dynamic MIDI learn. Use OSC to drive almost any operation in Ardour.

    Powerful Anywhere-to-Anywhere Signal Routing
Complex signal flows are simple and elegant. Inputs and outputs connect to your hardware and/or other applications. Use sends, inserts and returns freely. Connections can be one-to-many, many-to-one or many-to-many. Tap signal flows at any point. If you can't connect in the way you want with Ardour, it probably can't be done.

    Video Timeline
Import a single video and optionally extract the soundtrack from it. Display a frame-by-frame (thumbnail) timeline of the video. Use a Video-monitor window, or full-screen display, of the imported video in sync with any of the available ardour timecode sources. Lock audio-regions to the video: Move audio-regions with the video at video-frame granularity. Export the video, cut start/end, add blank frames and/or mux it with the soundtrack of the current-session.

    Ardour Is Open
Ardour is an open source, collaborative effort of a worldwide team including musicians, programmers, and professional recording engineers. Development is transparent — anyone can watch our work as it happens. Like a good piece of vintage hardware, you can open the box and look inside. Of course, you don't have to … but one day the fact that anybody can will be useful.

This openness forces a kind of integrity on the project that is hard to find in proprietary software, and helps us to focus on issues and features that matter to our users rather than stuff that just looks good in advertisements.
