  2. I downloaded this a couple of days ago and like the quality of this instrument. It is great fun to create a sound and either throw it in Omnisphere or resynthisize it to further manipulate the sound.

As always, thanks for all the updates on the new and the free!

I see in other forums and online magazines lots of commentaries and quotations about software and articles, but till yet nobody acknowledges rigthlty www.Audiosex.pro as a reliable source of Information. I myself considered this forum exceptional and love to share with ppl here. But I think Audiosex.pro is seen in other spaces as "dangerous" for the reputation cuz of the sister site and crack/hack threads. A lot of audio/music subjects, software, technical advices, etc., are here discussed, and a lot of people come here to look for advice or answers. It would be good to acknowledge this community outside this pages, she deserves it. People here share their knowhow with passion and for free... How long has this forum be online? I would like to thank the people behind it ( @SAiNT ) for what I have become and learned this few years. Maybe my opinion is wrong, then I want to excuse me if I've hurt anybody.

    Peace all!

    MyBino v1.0.2 by X-Audio
    Binaural monitoring plug-in

    http://www.cmap.polytechnique.fr/xaudio/mybino/

The X-Audio Team from the Ecole Polytechnique's Center for Applied Mathematics (CMAP) developped a free binaural monitoring plug-in. Born out of a collaboration with sound engineers of the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), this dynamic binaural engine allows you to mix and monitor up to 48 channels for each instance of the plugin, using the speaker setup of your choice.
This software uses HRTFs calculated with state-of-the-art interpolation techniques which allow a one degree precision. Various equalizations have been employed on those filters to seek the best compromise between timbre and externalization.

  12. I'm quite sure that there are hundreds if not more that visit the forum without formal membership, gleaning the knowledge that is of such abundance here. And yes, it is most likely though of as "dangerous" for some to cop as being a regular visitor for the reason you stated though it is everyone's loss that more find it out of bounds to participate, as those many others, I am sure, have great experience and ideas that would benefit us all. And quite the contrary, you have not hurt anyone but rather bring us all up by continuing and always pushing forward this fantastic thread with all the links that you provide, the real wealth of free tools that might pass by those without the zeal that you embody, enabling the poor artist and/or beginners (not to mention all the others that love many of these tools that you turn us on to) to use quality tools to learn with or to create for free.

FREE VERSION WILL EXPIRE IN 2018 !!!

    http://www.3d-tune-in.eu/toolkit-developers

    3DTI Toolkit

The 3D Tune-In Toolkit is a standard C++ library for audio spatialization and simulation of hearing loss and hearing aids.
The toolkit offers great flexibility by enabling the applications to use multiple configurations according to their needs. The library is currently being implemented and is planned to be partially released as open source for non-commercial use in Autumn 2017, full release at the beginning of 2018. The 3D Tune-In Toolkit supports two different setups: a simple pair of headphones using binaural sound and a set of speakers using Ambisonic encoding and decoding.

3D Tune-In Toolkit Test Apps - NOW RELEASED
The Test Apps for the 3D Tune-In Toolkit, both for binaural and loudspeaker spatialisation, have now been released (Windows and MacOSX). You can now download and install the test apps on your Windows or Mac computer, and perform real-time binaural and loudspeaker spatialisation with multiple sources, simulating different virtual spaces, and adding in the signal path also the simulation of hearing loss and hearing aids.

For more information about the features of the 3D Tune-In Toolkit, please read below and/or read here (3D Tune-In Toolkit Features.pdf).

    3D Tune-In Toolkit - binaural
Able to spatialize multiple anechoic sources efficiently by performing a convolution with a selected Head Related Impulse Response (HRIR), which is interpolated from those of a Head Related Transfer Function (HRTF) selected by the user. It can also add an extra shadow in the contralateral ear for sources very close to the listener head, according to a sound propagation model. The library can adapt the ITD (Interaural Time Differences) to a custom head circumference and darken sources placed far away from the listener.

Application for testing binaural spatialization features. The 3D Tune-In toolkit is able to spatialize multiple moving sources using a HRTF selected by the user.

To include the library in an application, developers can configure it with the desired HRTF, select the listener head circumference, declare the sources and start spatializing feeding it with as many audio streams as they want. Sources and Listener locations can be updated in run time and the library will smoothly adapt its process accordingly by means of interpolations.

In addition to the anechoic spatialization, the 3D Tune-In toolkit generates the corresponding reverberation, convolving anechoic sources with the room impulse response. It uses a novel approach, working with a low-order Ambisonic encoding of all sources, generating the reverberation of all sources together but keeping certain location dependent characteristics. This approach, together with an efficient convolution algorithm in the frequency domain, allows us to compute large reverberating scenes, with virtually unlimited number of sources, maintaining high spatial accuracy for the direct sound (spatialised using direct-HRTF convolution).

Application to test hearing loss and hearing aid simulation

The 3D Tune-In toolkit also implements a simulator of hearing loss and of a generalised hearing aid. The former simulates different types of hearing impairment. The latter, offers the possibility of simulating hearing aid devices, including multiband amplification and directional microphones.

    3D Tune-In Toolkit - loudspeakers
For a setup based on loudspeakers, the 3D Tune-In Toolkit is able to manage multiple sources, generating multiple channels to produce spatial sound by means of a number of loudspeakers located around the listener.

Application for testing the spatialization based on loudspeakers

This spatialization is based on an Ambisonic encoding, and includes both anechoic and reverberation paths, processed independently.

The reverberation is generated using a similar approach to that previously described for the binaural setup (based on virtual loudspeakers). In this case; including the library in an application, simply requires developers to configure it, setting the exact location of loudspeakers, declare the sources and manage the eight channel output produced by the library using the appropriate audio interface.

    3D Tune-In Toolkit - summary of features
    - Binaural spatialization.

    • Head Related Transfer Function (HRTF) selected by the user.
    • Custom user head circumference.
    • Specific simulation for near field sources- Smooth adaptation for moving sources.
    • Reverberation using the room impulse response.
    • Hearing loss simulation of different types of hearing impairment.
    - Spatialization based on loudspeaker.

    - Generalized hearing aid simulation.

    Binaural spatialisation demo.
This is a brief demo of the capabilities of the 3D Tune-In Toolkit in terms of binaural spatialisation, including environmental acoustic and distance simulations. The first audio is the original anechoic recording:

The second one is the actual audio spatialised using the 3D Tune-In Toolkit:

Probably Garageband has already been mentioned

But one other, which is not exactly free for everyone, is great as well

    Ableton Live Lite

    https://www.ableton.com/en/products/live-lite/features/

It kas the key elements of Ableton and you can load any kind of instrument to the drummachine and sampler already inside it

A sampler for which people would have killed in the 80s

Stretching warping of audio material as well as an inbuilt tutorial, which i have not seen in any other daw

Ableton is very easy to learn, a bit harder to master

But to do basic things like recording, playing and arranging midi and audio it is way faster then any logic or cubase due to its ergonomics

You will need a free instrument of your choosing like tyrell or any synth as well as a piano if you want finer sounds

For sampling you are all set, you can go daft punk on it

Use ANY sound as a pitched voice to play with

Truly awesome program which comes free with some hardware, you can buy it off ebay for around 20 bucks
