What Is Virtual Playing Orchestra?
Virtual Playing Orchestra is a free, sfz format, sample library that attempts to emulate multiple articulations of the solo and section instruments from a full orchestra using the best samples from Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra, No Budget Orchestra, VSCO2 Community Edition, University of Iowa, Philharmonia Orchestra and extra samples from Mattias Westlund, author of Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra.

W1 Limiter

Currently W1 Limiter 2.0 is in beta. The final version will introduce limiting meters and a graph. Please also note, the OS X version is not backwards compatible, while Windows version is backwards compatible. However on both systems projects saved with W1 v2.0 will not load with the previous obsolete version.

W1 Limiter is a clone of Waves L1, with identical output, as well as an approximation of Waves L2.

This was accomplished without reverse engineering Waves products, and the result was obtained by adjusting 4Front YLimiter, by doing the following:

• Simplifying release curve
• Increasing release time 3 times (see notes below)
• Altering softening circuit filter

1.Subject of this Agreement
Subject of this agreement is the software application „DrumMic`a!“ as well as any accompanying documents. SENNHEISER retains ownership, copyright and other proprietary rights related to the LIBRARY. By using, copying or distributing all or any part of this LIBRARY, USER accept all the terms and conditions of this agreement.
2. Library
SENNHEISER guarantees that all of the samples contained within the LIBRARY have been created and recorded especially for the DrumMic`a! virtual instrument, and states that any similarity to any other sample instrument is unintentional. The LIBRARY itself, als well as the contained audio samples remain the property of SENNHEISER and are licensed, not demised, to the USER for use with the LIBRARY.
3. Use
SENNHEISER grants USER a personal, limited, non-exclusive license to install and use the LIBRARY for their personal, non commercial as well as commercial use within musical compositions. USER may install one copy as well as all upgrades and updates on a single computer, and for archival purposes on a storage device or media. USER may also use the LIBRARY within a network, provided that any USER has obtained an individual license.

KVR user Kriminal recorded and shared some samples of his Les Paul SG Custom, I decided to take his one-shots and stuff them into a playable instrument. It is very simple to handle and most of the controls are self-explaining.

The string section contributes the most in orchestral music. This sample library therefore aims to help create MIDI orchestrations. It can be used on its own or “layered” with other string libraries to get a richer sound. The library is kept relatively small and utilizes the SFZ format that can be loaded with freely obtainable software. For flexibility, the samples have minimal reverberation.

Woodwinds, the mellow and warm side of the orchestra. The Sustain Woodwinds SFZ library consists of:

• 4 Flutes
• 4 Oboes

• 4 Bassoons

Although woodwinds are more commonly used for solo melody parts, they can also be used in unison sections to get that big sound that remains mellow, gentle and warm. Even if it is possible to use multiple solo woodwinds to form a chord, having multiple unison woodwinds gives more timbral possibilities in your orchestration. This allows the instruments to have a supporting harmonic role or have more volume in melodies, making it more balanced with the strings and brass.
