    Hello,
what do you use to backup your system?
On my Hackintosh I use SuperDuper! to clone the entire HDD and besides that Timemachine for continious incremental Backup.

Thank you ! I will try them .

I have used so far EaseUS Todobackup which lets you clone drives and craete updates as well as macrium but both install System Services which might influence teh audio performance. Especially Macriums service was heavy and led to audio glitches and cpu spikes in Maschine

I tried acronis, but I was obverwelmed by its features,
and I dont want 'try and decide', or any backgroudn services running.

Something like SuperDuper! for Windows would be lovely, it creates bootable (incremental) clones without any background service :

I tried it... as staed above. It installs background services which degrades the audio performance on my system.
[EDIT] no longer true , using it right now without any hassle, <3

  14. Computer Management->Services->Macrium Service, switch from Automatic to Manual.

If you search around on the internet you'll find many web sites that explain how to create a pair of batch files, that embed NET STOP and NET START commands that will switch everything off you don't need, the background updater is the real menace, and another to switch it all back on again.

I've used SyncBack for years. The free version is SynBackFree, and is a scaled down version of their professional backup products. It's full featured and flexible, no nags and ad free. Their claim: "SyncBackFree - the best Windows backup and synchronization program on the planet with great features and benefits at no cost". I agree.

I use the free version of AOMEI Backupper. Love the layout and there are so many options in this free version already. There are paid versions aswell, but the free version works really great and easy for me.

Don't rly wanna shill Acronis, but it kinda is teh best...

You can switch off the bg services, like any. Still works ok doing incremental backups, just switch back on.

I guess w/ backups u will most likely stick w/ whatever u first use. I just find that (when things do go wrong) Acronis has the most options to restore, and can even restore backups to totally different machine (although not recd long term). It's not rly overwhelming, just having lots of options. Main things are to choose [backup scheme] incremental backup, create only incremental after.., [advanced] performance>compression=max. And maybe change the stuff that's on exclusions page, depending on ur personal taste (although don't backup hiberfil /pagefil .sys etcs). Everything else is pretty much just ok by default!
