    Hallo
still looking for a serious professional equalizer to use in the mix,
I mean something with a good sound and low cpu

right now I'm using Bias equalizer which is ok, I like it, it's very light and has a good sound
but I would like to improve the sound

    I've tried:
    Fabfilter pro-q
    Voxengo gliss-eq

    i like them both

any suggestion for something that rocks????

The one within your DAW. Seriously, why bother to look for EQs when you already have a perfectly good one?
Or just pic one, whatever. They do the same thing.

They all sound the same, unless they are "emulators", "characteristics", badly written, have bad aliasing, etc.

I prefer Apulsoft ApQualizr. Beside the usual/standard EQ and filter options it has dual mono EQ, Mid/Side EQ, oversampling, etc, which convinced me to buy it. I use it daily in my work.

Your ears is the best EQ just tweak it until you like the sound and if some EQ plugin "color" your sound and you prefer that sound it is the right sound

hmm i like the Ableton EQ8 for simple things like boosting. (really hope A9's EQ is better for cutting)
cutting with Fabfilter Q on basic elements like hats/drums
IL EQ2 for basslines. the gentle mode is ace for that. makes a great sub.

An eq is an eq it's all about saturation.

Brainworxs BX2 is my favorite though.

If money is no problem I would recommend Neon HR by PSPaudioware...

All DAW's have built in EQs that works just fine, usually a parametric on single channels and all kinds to add to a rack and process with. Digital EQ has no noise floor. If you are looking to trick out digital signals with more of an analog sound, which is what seems like 80% of VST plug ins are made for, go for the ones modeled on the classic analog brands. In the old days we tried to avoid EQ in any step it could be avoided, because it added noise and phase distortion. I have seen everything from stuff modeled on Pultecs to ones modeled on the custom units built for Abbey Road studios. Compression and EQ are best used sparingly, at the end of a chain. And no matter what you use, it will still all come down to your ears. Get the best sounds you can without it, with tone controls on amps guitars and keyboards, mic placement, or using quality files. It is also better to think of EQ as a subtractive process for taking things out, than for adding things in. If you want more of something, take out some of the things around it.

There are some cool looking VSTs--The Jack Joseph Puig Pultec and Fairchild modeled stuff looks like it went through abuse. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. And you gotta love Sausage Fattener's little animation.

I agree, the default eq will be best integrated within your software and from my experience uses almost no CPU. For some reason, 3rd party plugs are always CPU whores. I only use SSL for mastering.
