Imperial delay all the way

 

Waves H-Delay. The End.

 

I myself was fortunate to get Native Instruments' Replika when it was introduced as a promotional freebie. I love that delay - I can get anything from a slapback echo to a subtler, modulated delay. I had used to use Logic's Stereo Delay a lot, but this has replaced it. Softube's Tube Delay and Valhalla Shimmer do lend some weirdness.

They're ton of excellent stuff, even in freeware world for other FX such compressors, reverbs, EQs, limiters, saturations etc (and some free stuff may better than some commercial).
Also, DAW stock plugs may be sufficient, for example, Ableton Live's Ping Pong Delay does the job.

H-delay works wonders for me, and I find myself going for it most of the time. Fast, simple, suits my needs.
Riccochet can be cool too for special fx delays.

 

I use Replika quite a bit, though I tend to whack up the diffusion and use it to smear everything out rather than as a traditional delay. Valhalla UberMod can produce some weird effects, PSP42 for more general stuff.

 

How strange. It worked for me when I was running 10.9.4.

I forgot to mention in my previous post, though it probably goes without saying, that the version 4.0.2 Echoboy im running is 32bit and requires wrapping with 32Lives to function now ... but I understand your issue has nothing to do with that.

What version of Echoboy have you installed?
When you open your Logic Plugin Manager Echoboy isn't there at all?
It must be or you couldn't have gotten that failed scan message ...
Have you tried using the OSX Validate All AUs.app?

If you're no longer interested in installing and using Echoboy I'll stop with the questions - I don't want to be a pest!

 

Soundtoys version 4.1.1, maybe should i go backwards and install 4.0.2 ??

 

My personal experience, and my understanding of other people's experience, is that 4.0.2 is still the only long term solid release for Mac.

Maybe give it a shot since 4.1.1 isn't working for you anyway? 4.1.1 didn't work for me.

Favourite : Echoboy, but since you can "soundtoyserize" any plugin with the "put-a-decapicator-afterwards-trick" i felt in love with Excalibur.
U-He Satin for tape-style sounds also very nice.

 

That Decapitator trick is funny.
I must admit that the sound of Echoboy is only one-half of what I love about it. There's something about the layout that really works for me more than all other delays I've tried.
I'd love to audition Excalibur one day but I'm an OSX guy and I'm not going down that iLok2 road.
