    hello,

i know there are similar threads but the newest is some 6 months old. What are the best delay plugins 2016 in terms of:
    • audio quality (processing)
    • flexibility
    • general use standard music production (e.g. vocals, snares, guitars, strings)
i stick with my old ones, but i need to innovate. These are what i manage:
    • specially the PSP's ones

    t.i.a. for the advices!

I have replika, echoboy, fabfilter timeless. My go to is ableton's ping pong delay and echoboy. Actually Echoboy can cover all your needs. It's the best (IMHO).

use whatever... you've got plenty already!

be creative: try to put effects before or after the delay in the plugin chain (ex: saturation+eq before to give a color, mix with reverb on the same return track... lots of possibilities here!)

    peace

It's simple, super easy delay with some few extra options such as: two different delay algorithms and diffusion mode (plate emulation i guess), filters (hp/lp), saturation and phaser. It works well. If you have echoboy i guess you don't need replika. If you don't have echoboy - replika is good suggestion. Also if you need very basic delay try "tritik delay".

P.s. English is not my default language, sorry for terrible grammar. :D

as standard go-to delay my favourite is the logic Stereo Delay wich fits 90% of my needs.

Yup. And actually tritik delay is a good alternative for using it in different host.

I do like UVI Relayer (Multi Tap Delay) if you want some crazy FX.

I've been trying the excalibur (Exponential Audio) thing released by audioutopia lately, at it's heart it is 4 delays units and then you can add tones of effects, filters on it...It's a bit odd as a workflow first , I had to read the manual for certain things, but it's a very powerfull thing.
On a day to day basis I usually go for EchoBoy, D16 Sigmund, U-He MF2F (and satin has a nice old school delay unit too) or FXpansion Bloom. They all sound good, they are flexible and easy to use.

I summed it up to just Echoboy & Imperial Delay in the last months. I really don't need anything else anymore. I also used Timeless2 in the past, but left it behind. I like Imperial Delay for the straight forward approach when i want to automate tons of parameters including the pitch of the delay. I can do that in Echoboy too but i keep this one for the bread&butter stuff.

Echoboy, Tritik, & Boz Imperial, not necessarily in that order, depends!
