Looking for the best daw for arraning audio, intuitive and feature wise which ram optimization and fast loading times. I'm using Orion but the audio arranging is lacking IMO and am looking to explore some more DAW's exclusively for arranging streamed audio. No need to use midi or sequencers cause for me Orion is the quickest and best for my tastes, just need a good arranger. Would be nice if they had a memory saving function and has quick audio loading abilites with many waveforms. Its also important to be intuitive for ease of use. Also one with alot of features working with audio I can't even think of would be nice to hear about while searching. Hopefully one daw will stick out from the recommendations and people will agree on it, then just need to watch some tutorials if available before installing any demo versions so links would help too! Peace!~Tim

I like studio one for mixing. It has a really nice gui for that.
Studio one has the macros which really help if you get time to learn about them.

I would say ableton and bitwig follow right behind for arrangement.
Ableton and bitwig are pretty similar. A few difference but nothing crazy over the other one. I do think they excel on midi/clip/audio warping. You should give it a try to clip launcher if you just want to work around with audio clips. You can have a variation of hi hats and loop them to see which is the best for each bar.

That's just my personal opinion. I'm sure all 3 can do what you want

P.s. Pro tools is probably the most basic arrangement DAW. Pretty similar to studio one, the downside is that you might get a hard time finding a good "copy" to try it out.

Yeah, Cubase or PT would be the choice for me (between Cubase PT Logic Reaper & S1, don't know other daws).
I must say I don't like cubase at all, but it's just matter of taste, it's surely good for audio editing.
But ProFools beats every daw at AUDIO editing to me (let alone the midi, that's a joke).

a few years back i would have recommend Acid Pro. It was the best audio sequencer around, or at least it did everything i needed and workflow was very smooth. i would still recommend it if audio is your thang. other progs that i find great for audio are ableton and studio one. ( studio one is very fast for me at most editing and it's music loops and audio loop format is brilliant. you edit your audio on the timeline and save the edits to a loop in it's library. it really is a great feature, ableton has a similar one to... anyway those are my favs.
ps. just my opinion, but bitwig needs a lot of work to get it up to speed and i certainly wouldn't recommend it for a beginner.

Actually, i disagree on that point. it is one of the things in Bitwig that is superior. you can edit and add wav.s in the clip window, something you cannot do in Ableton. Also in Bitiwg you can mix different audio files in the clip window. i think this is a feature unique to Bitiwg. now, if they can sort out the hundreds of bugs and non-existent features ( you cannot resize your tracks in it, you can only select frmo narrow or narrower. WTF? it's mind boggling to me all the stuff Bitwig DOESN'T have.. not if it wants to compete with the other DAWs on the market. : 0

I was under the impression that with as little as 3 postings everything has to be approved by a mod or admin.
Who approved this gibberish and why?

Personally, I've tried installing all Windows Supported Daws and Fl Studio is the easiest one in my opinion. Especially if you learn to use Pattern Blocks, which can be enabled in the Options Menu.
Arrangement becomes easier with grouping same automation clips of the same track, and it gives you a nice view if you also colour it creatively.

in this kind of topic, everybody is just giving his favorite DAW, i dont think you'll get a satisfying answer..

and your choice may depends of what you want to do with your audio tracks: chop audio for breakcore, pitch correction on vocals /guitars, etc...
i don't think people who choose protools or reaper are looking for the same "audio arrangement" than those who choose ableton or cubase.

for me it is ableton for those reasons:
    - clip looping, appropriated for electronic music. when i duplicate x times a clip, i can make different automations on each of these clips separately before event starting to sequence in arrangement mode
    - curve automation with alt + mouse control
    - nice browser and clip edition view
    - shortcuts (duplicate, split, join... = faster than any midi controller, but absolutely necessary for using a DAW, no matter which one you choose).

its just you have to find the tabs again, but they will all do the same job for you,
the only way you will realy find out what you like is to start downloading and go true them one by one till you say
