    Hello everyone,
I'm in need of some advice regarding a new audio interface. I've been using my laptop for the past two years but it's slowly dying and its limitations are becoming more and more obvious. I'm planning on buying a desktop computer in the next few months with music production as the main focus (+gaming, might as well). I know pretty much what I want for every component except for the audio interface, as I don't know anything about them.
Here's the thing: I don't use external devices (except my midi keyboard of course) so I don't an audio interface with 100 inputs. In fact, all I need is an audio interface that would just allow me to use ASIO drivers so that I don't have latency and it's more stable than ASIO4ALL. But all the audio intefaces I find online come with a lot of features I don't really need.
So I thought I'd ask here for recommendations on what I should get

If you don't need inputs at all, then NI Traktor Audio might be a good choice.

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 or 2i4 is great as well, but I find their ASIO drivers slightly inferior, and the headphone amp lacks both fieldity and power.
The mic preamps are unbeatable though, the best in its class

If you are from EU, I can sell you mine. I'd need inputs in future. Everything like new with unused Traktor Pro license.
The new MK2 does not come with Traktor *yes*

The lexicon Alpha is the cheapest and should suite your needs just fine

    Consider this...
    M Audio Audiophile 192

    http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/mar05/articles/maudiophile192.htm

I've had one of these for over 6 years with no problems.Good sound and latency is low. It's a card so it's not stealing one of you usb slots. £60.

M-Audio used to be good, but sadly is no longer.
That's my experience with Axiom 61. Firmware issue, blue screen of death (most Axioms are notorious for this). They just couldn't care less, no official fix has been made public and no official response on their forums.

Though their audio interfaces might be good.

6 years ago, everything was different *yes*

if all you need is a single MIDI, the M-Audio I have works fine. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/keyboards-midi/m-audio-usb-uno-1x1-midi-interface $40 I use it when i just want a simple hook up without going through my rack mount PreSonus. I hate my Tascam US800. It and windows just didn't always get along. PreSonus stuff is sweet.

Also, check Presonus AudioBox (USB or VSL).

make sure that you have the latest update.

    http://beta.focusrite.com/

    Try this betas.

Last month I had trouble with ableton. I would lose sound out of nowhere and had to manually configure each time. Until i realize that the "mixcontrol" needed an update.

Personally i'm using a Reloop Play as i don't need any inputs. Much better design than the NI one, and perfect for djing too. RCA connections +
