since deemix-gui project has been discontinued and not easy to find working download links, i'm uploading it here because to me it is still the best solution to download music from Deezer:

you will find latest win installer and also portable version there. read how to obtain deezer ARL as you probably won't be able to login with your regular login/pwd. other than that everything works great as of 2024.09. of course you need to have a premium account at Deezer.

This is mostly obsolete now:
It's been harder and harder to download music. Whether you pay for it, or not. Google Play Music has been my last resort because they allowed to download tracks that you purchase. Now that they became YouTube Music, that feature is gone.
Times are changing and we have to adjust. I tried many different services but those that have database beyond pop music - use drm protection, so you can't use your player to listen to the music that you paid for, you can't copy it to your phone, you can't play it in your car from flash drive, etc.

Thanks to this topic i found out that there is software to download music from Spotify with original bitrate and convert it to any format you prefer.

This post is simply my own test of those programs and confirmation that you can indeed download tracks with at least 256kbps from Spotify.


So here we go. my humble opinion:
1. Allavsoft Video Downloader Converter
gives you the best audio quality;
bad UX - obsolete "WinXP style" interface;
automatically creates 3 folders for it's activity (converted, downloaded, merged);
Fastest download speed of all;
asks for your Spotify login (which actually makes sense).


2. Sidify Music Converter
Based on the same engine as NoteBurner and Tidabie, but has the best interface and features;
sometimes just won't start;
shuts down spotify while converting;
slow download speed.


NoteBurner - I was only able to run it once. Don't know how but it seems totally identical to Sidify.


Ondesoft Spotify Converter
no AAC support;
raw interface;
shuts down spotify while converting.


Tidabie Tidal Music Converter
Uses the same engine as Sidify and NoteBurner;
Exprensive;
Requires you to register an account at Tidal.com before you can even test it.

now the most important - you don't even have to get Spotify premium. The quality you get through this software is the same for both premium and free Spotify accounts.



You can check downloaded files yourself.

Honestly i don't know how they didn't got sued. sidify also sells software to download from apple music

im using deemix-pyweb, it downloads files directly from deezer as mp3 128, 320 and FLAC. its one click, it tags alone and ads album covers in various sizes in the file and extra.

you can easily download a 10k playlist in an hour, if you connection is fast enough.

 

i tried deezer about 8 months ago, couldn't find there what i got from Spotify.

your list has incorrect Tags - for example:

How will you possibly find this one? Bryan Milton & Jama - ID?

as an alternative to fill gaps, what Deezer not has, im using Soulseek, it can find very rare vinyl recordings, well what people offer. (FLAC, mp3, WAV, etc)

Those standard EDM labels, all put their stuff on spotify and Deezer.

 

you could never download from Spotify - they had their stuff always encrypted from the beginning.

Yeah i think i started around beginning 2017 mass downloading from Deezer, there were days with 100+GB @ 320

It always depends if Labels have digitalized vinyls or allowed distribution via Spotify/deezer etc, if they havnt done that, then you cant find the Tracks.

 

@SAiNT i can do that later and post deemix to the Main.

Also that tidal downloader works good, bcs Tidal has their shit also not encrypted.
