now installed to these^ three - "360 total security" (with three engines – 360, BitDefender, Avira)
All 6 run together,.... anyway run also Firewall+ Windows Defender.

All three days make a full system backup on three different drives, one of which is always offline.

    No loss of speed.
    (Win 7 Pro x64, 64 GB RAM))

    ok my way:
    Avast free av
Malwarebytes (not inreal time, not with Avast shields active, just for scan)
Kaspersky TDSS killer (rootkit scanner) freeware
Kaspersky bootable Rescue Disk (rootkit scanner from outside, bootable) freeware

    only 1 at time

Comodo firewall free, it locks the temp folder and controls what is happening there, while creating the files
infact if you disable it, the PC stops working, it takes it as an attack

if I want to be 100% sure, visiting new or strange sites, I boot from a stick with Tails 2.0, Tor browser

The best Antivirus is to never visit suspicious porn sites and never click YES to any windows that pop up,anywhere.
Unless its an invitation from your sexy milf neighbour for a coup of coffee.

actually I go online with a cheesy laptop, with all that software I ve described above, W7 OR with Tails 2.0
Disk image and W7 DVD at hand, but I never got a virus
(there are virus for Tails too, it may need Bitdefender for Debian Linux)
the DAW Mac has never seen the web
I got a virus on a Mac anyway, a polip, from the very first Trillian upload, years ago, even if I had an antivirus on the Mac. It destroyed the ram. And the Omnisphere somehow stopped working.

ah yes and an ipad online

I have another secret: the PC is not mine, the ipad is not mine, the internet connection is not under my name
I ve never had an internet connection under my name, ever.
It's all my sexy milf neighbour's property

No that is a myth but true is that there is fewer virus written for mac thats not hard to understand as windows have about 90% of the computer market so why targeting so few computers if you want something to happen

It sure as hell can get virus and trojans also
It all depend on how you surf the internet cant believe people still believe in that myth..

I had 10 virus and trojans last time i did a scan but then i was also testing if it could be attacked a.k.a i visited porn sites

My girlfriends win 7 computer has no AV at all installed only the built in Firewall and she have it configure like that for almost 10 years she never had any virus or trojans guess why..

She used to have AV installed and she got tons of warnings about her computer being infected and 30 spam mail everyday

Then when her paid period ended she couldn´t afford to renew the licence so i uninstalled it cleaned everything in the register
And almost no spam anymore only a few every week maybe 3-4 so i was curious why all spam stopped coming so i did reinstall of the demo and hey spam was back
I uninstalled again and after that i did an online scan about a month later her PC was clean i did install another AV demo still clean but she got spam again so back to uninstall and now it has gone almost 10 years so maybe its PC that is the best AV
No best AV is the user that sit behind the computer
    Go figure!!

It feels like to set my PC back in the 80ies installing an AV, so I dont't use a Av for around 10 years now.
If if find something suspicious, I use as sandboxies @Gramofon says above.
I've not had any virus ever since (but I'm maintaining an intensive backup scheme for my machines so I don't worry about)

The time before, I did use an AV program and I had several virus attacks (because I've been more careless as I had an AV (sic!)) and they literally helped me nothing. None was able to find the newest viruses nor were they able to kill them. What the AV did do, was slowering my machines 1/3.

So for me the solution is, being careful, use sandboxie plus virtual machines an do frequent backups. No AV.

Ok, after a week or two, NOD32 goes into trash... because of the following:
for some unknown reason executing of programs (exe) files becomes delayed, I watched NOD32 activity log and everything is so slow.
Run Kontakt.exe standalone from desktop and I must wait for 1 minute to open...
After uninstalling NOD32 everything went back to normal. Ah, scheiße!
Installed 360 total security now, no CPU spikes.

Nod32 always been my favourite and always used it for about 8 years. However I did get annoyed with a few things about a year ago and switched to Avast temporally... But since Avast was working fine... It's permanent now.

But in the end. I don't even need an AV. I tend to avoid any 'bad' sites. However since everything is so diluted and i can see myself being stupid every now and then, I'm glad I have one just incase.

i think everyone know that problem when using keygen or some vst, the antivirus detect something bad in it and delete it or put it in quarantine

some days ago i have insttalled some audioutopia stuff and everything got deleted from avira antivirus, have tried in past kaspersky, malwarebytes and a lot of shit, but one they every antivir & firewall make stress

i think the best way ist do use a pc only offline for music prod. but the shit is to transfer all ur downlaods always to that pc

in last years i have used one HD for music , offline, and one HD for download and normal using, but it fucks me up to transfer the downloads to the music pc

now i use one pc for everything with antivir but it has deleted all audioutopia plugins :D

i remember a software ccleaner i have tried in past, it has deleted the full vst folder

Hands down - SecureAPlus is a AV that is ridiculously good that is free - but if you want a complete security suite - Bitdefender and Trend ranked the highest of the last round of AV benchmarking reports (sourced from 3 sites)

Not an option here. That's why I need an AV...

Never happened here. And if it happened I wouldn't need an AV because I wouldn´t need to visit porn sites in the first place.

Damn, life sure is complicated man...

    Just joking lol
I only visit trustable porn sites
