    Hello everyone.

I've recently come across an AI tool called notes ai that claims to quickly summarize long lecture notes and organize them by topic or key points. It sounds promising, but before I jump in, I wanted to ask if anyone here has experience with these types of tools.

Are they accurate and reliable for study purposes? How do they compare to traditional note-taking or summarizing manually? I'm especially curious about any limitations I should be aware of.

Would love to hear your experiences or recommendations for something that genuinely helps streamline studying without missing important details!

Conclusion: Are AI summaries a good replacement?

No – but they are a very good addition. You should view them as a supporting tool, not as the sole learning method.

A hybrid approach is particularly effective:
    - First, let the AI summarize,
    - Then actively revise the summary or add your own notes.

If you're looking for alternatives or better tools:
    - Notion AI: Good for structured notes and summaries.
    - Microsoft Copilot / Word with AI: Useful if you work with Office.
    - Obsidian with GPT plugins: For advanced users, offers full control.
    - AudioPen or Otter.ai: Ideal for audio transcription and initial drafts.

If you're looking for studying most effectively, nothing beats making notes yourself because you have to think about what you note down. You engage in the topic cognitively and intellectually.

When you outsource this process to an AI, in the end, you might have more orderly notes and a great summary of the topics you can go back to but you won't have learned as much.

I do think though, that AI is very capable of summarizing newspaper or magazine articles to quickly get the gist if you don't have the time or leisure to fully read them

if you use your own brain, you will be skimming and categorizing knowledge, and thus helping to make it more memorable and more deeply learning it.

If you let AI do it, you just made yourself stupider, why sabotage your brain, and your life?

How ironic that @yomav came here for advice from real people, and once more you copy paste AI generated slop.

I'm kinda getting sick of this BS.
