Any thoughts? Also anyone with experience know if a TR-8 would add any more warblyness compared to stagnant 808 wavs?

    For sure.

Best libraries would be Goldbaby SuperAnalog808 for musicality and Transistor Revolution for functionality.
Best VST would be D16 Nepheton.

All of them are being eaten for breakfast by the TR-8.
Bought it two weeks ago. Didn't look back.

Used to own a 808 and a 909 years ago. You can't get closer to the originals.
The strenght being the sequencer, to play patterns live like you're Jeff Mills on speed!!

Better 909 emulation than 808, in my opinion.
Don't own the 7X7-TR8 expansion, so I can't comment on that.

    Take it easy.

If by "best" you mean closest to the real thing I have an excellent suggestion (also, it's free!)

you could also try some tape or tube or whatever treated versions too , it may save time if thats what your planning on doing to them, but I know the list seems endless
