Or not... what takes time is coming up with new ideas and features.
There are enough existing ressources to ease the process.
Or maybe they'll acquire N-track studio and they evaluated 18 months to make it look attractive

Don't they force you to login in order to use it? Any piece of software that forces me to log into an account is basically useless for me.

Lodenkotze isn't even a german word :dunno:
Krankheit would be fun, but I'd prefer Behsondersbillig or Baldkaputt for a BAW name.
But probably more likely is an English title, like BEHmusician Suite or something like that.

I'm always interesed in checking out what new DAWs bring to the table. But from my experience, it's usually unstable, unreliable crap (Hello Mibux and Bitwig)

Maybe they should call it Cheapinger Pro?!

having the great chance to start fresh Behringer could (should) make their own lane by finally developing a multiple platform Daw, so we could finally have a full blown Daw on both mobile (tablet) and desktop. inevitably this is the future I would say. today there is still no complete solution

Cubasis and Beatmaker would be the closest thing but they are still held down by having to cash in, since Behringer will be doing this just as a promotion thing for their brand in general for free that would give them a completely different range of possibilities. and of course they should make the new daw work exceptionally well with their hardware, that would be a bonus and win-win for both the consumer and Behringer itself, its a great idea really.

they could start basic and release a basic prototype and over a period of lets say two years make it perfect.

I had wished presonus studio one would have already made a version for ipad but they haven't even hinted anything, and even if they did it would certainly not be free, so Behringer have all my best wishes and hopefully will they be the guys making this happen.

One thing I forgot they'll produce everything in China
What if the DAW will only got a Chinese UI

And I'll see the sample list in front of my inner eye :
    • LonQin – Chinese historical zither, early zither in Chinese. An ancient classical Chinese musical instrument similar to Guqin.
    • Guqin (Chinese: 古琴; pinyin: gǔqín) – 7-stringed zithers
    • Se (Chinese: ; pinyin: ) – 25-stringed zither with movable bridges (ancient sources say 13, 25 or 50 strings)
    • Zheng (Chinese) – Similar to Guzheng
    • Guzheng (古箏)

Interesting... but I'm not going to hold my breath, given how they're so fond of bundling Tracktion 4 with their hardware. I really hope it's nothing to do with Tracktion, or even anything based on it, but something Behringer have written from the ground up.

    Features I'd love to see:
    • Offline
    • Skinnable
    • Scalable
    • Clean, uncluttered Arrange page and Mixer (not too high contrast- / harsh-looking, but with enough definition to not be wishy-washy )
    • Right-click tool menu (cursor, pointer, pencil, selection, scissors, glue, mute, effect... )
    • Ability to apply effects on a per-part basis on the Arrange page (e.g. Right-click [on part], Add effect... ) as well as the usual insert/send effects on the Arrange & Mixer pages
    • Support for VST2/VST3 plug-ins at 32- & 64-bit with auto bridging (unlike PreSonus who disabled VST support for free/cheaper versions )
    • Decent MIDI features, easily accessible & simple but powerful (not awkward as in Reaper ) including nice MIDI piano roll & list editors
    • Allows you to reorganize your plug-ins
Wait a minute, with all that, this is probably worth paying for!

EDIT: Throw in a Yamaha SoundFont XG MIDI output driver on the MIDI channels for instant gratification! :')

For me the key requirements I have are:
    • Online
    • Locked theme, no trashy user created themes ruining it's image.
    • Not scalable, look at what it did to Arturia. 100k files for scaled images.
    • Arrange page and Mixer needs as much stuff as we can put there. (ultra high contrast- / harsh-looking, no definition to not be wishy-washy )
    • Right-click tool menu is for lazy people, none of that! (cursor, pointer, pencil, selection, scissors, glue, mute, effect... )
    • All effects need to be song wide (e.g. Add it, you're fucked. It's just there... )
    • No support for VST2/VST3 plug-ins at 32- & 64-bit with auto bridging cause that is crackable and will raise prices from free to maybe $3 (worth mentioning seeing how PreSonus disabled VST support for free/cheap versions cause they are smart)
    • Below average MIDI features that are hard to find to rule out bedroom producers, and ultra weak (Reaper is King) - VST2/VST3/x86/x64 (What is this)
    • Allows you to reorganize your plug-ins to confuse the heck out of you during a drunken stupor, and forever lose them. Kinda like NI cutting off their products. BOOYAH!
EDIT: I'm just joking, but seriously consumer base is so wishy washer and in every direction... What comes out is anyone guess at this point.

I think they dropped the necessity of installing Bandcamp along with Cakewalk actually. Doesn't matter; I use the cracked version and there's no need to sign into anything or connect to the net at all. And I don't really feel morally queasy about running a cleaner free version of something that was free to begin with...
