best of all it is FREE

    https://www.musictech.net/news/behringer-has-started-development-for-a-new-daw/

    the tweet

    "
It’s now official. We will be creating our own Music Tribe DAW.
This is a massive undertaking, which will take at least 18 months and for that purpose we have now assembled a large development team.
Our Music Tribe DAW will also include samples and VST’s plus connections to third party VST’s. Our goal is to include the very best features available, including multiple user interfaces for both recording and DJ.
We would love to develop this together with you and hence encourage you to share your preferred platforms and features so we can consider your input. Our opportunity is that we have no legacy platform to maintain, which will allow us to think “blue sky” and combine the “best of all worlds”.

Best of all, the DAW will be FREE of charge! Our goal is to empower all musicians to record, mix, edit and publish their music.

As always thank you so much for all your support and loyalty."

Cakewalk is already free and it's awesome (imo). Although it doesn't cater to DJs so there might be a different market there.

I really hope they borrow the best that every major DAW out there has to offer and put it into one super DAW...and make it fully operational when offline.

I'll not prejudge it, I'll wait to see what they do.

^This, I would pay for this but I won't argue with free. I wish them the best in this endeavor.

lol, Imagine all their hardware clones embedded in the DAW. I might keep it as a third DAW, wouldn't you?

I hope the "best thing" about it is not that it is free.
I also hope that poor logic by the writer has nothing to do with the development of the DAW.

behringer are changing the world for poor musicians, one product at a time.

Although I'm looking at tone generators like the Hydrasynth, Wavestate and Pro-3, Behringer is #1 on my radar for their Roland & Moog modules as well as Pro-1 and 2600. My province in Canada is the only one without a sales tax but things are tough and it's coming. Gonna fill my studio and buy a new SUV first (for hauling stuff to gigs).

    Feature Request

Built in ransomeware triggers whenever someone that can't sing attempts to create an auto-tune remix.

Bonus points if you can get it to turn them into a piece of charcoal by electrocuting them through their keyboard.

    Wake we when it´s ready
    (Aurora is calling )

Cubase and Pro Tools took 31 Years to be like it is today
    Logic 27
    Reaper 13

They think they can make it in 1 and a half

    Sorry but will not happen

(And if they´ll make it It will look like Cubase 1.0 :bleh:)
